Texas Center for Arts + Academics

Texas Center for Arts + Academics Texas Center for Arts + Academics oversees the only fine-arts-focused charter schools in Fort Worth. Help Us Create a More CREATIVE, INSPIRED Future.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring young people through the arts and academics. Exceptional Education with a Fine-Arts Focus

TCA+A holds the charter for two different schools: Texas School of the Arts (K-6th) and Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (3rd-12th). Both schools provide students an exceptional academic program with heavy emphasis on the fine arts. Elementary

Programs

Texas School of the Arts (K-6th grades) and Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (3rd-6th grades)

Texas School of the Arts (TeSA), starting at Kindergarten, believes there is an artist in every child! TeSA and Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) elementary students receive an introduction to arts-based education. Combining a top-rated general curriculum with rotations of music, dance, visual arts, and theatre, students are encouraged to explore their artistic interests. Both public charter schools focus on the artistic process and offer performance opportunities. Highly rated for their academics, both schools provide students with a tremendous framework for a bright future. Admission is based on auditions to ensure that each child is artistically inclined, and every family is committed to arts education. Middle School and High School Programs

Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (7th-12th grades)

The middle and high school programs of TCA+A are provided at FWAFA. Admitted by audition only, students at FWAFA enjoy an education like no other, complete with rigorous academic programs and top-tier fine arts training. While all grades focus on the creative process and building a technical foundation, middle and high school students audition for roles in TCA+A premiere performances and showcase their artwork in gallery-style exhibitions. FWAFA students also regularly feature in performances and arts competitions in the community with invitations extended often to display or perform across the nation, and even internationally. Home to premiere performance groups such as the Grammy award-winning Texas Boys Choir, Singing Girls of Texas, Academy Dance Company, Academy Musical Theatre Company, and the Children’s Choir of Texas, FWAFA provides world-class performances across the globe. We need families looking for programs that celebrate a
child’s unique talents. We need givers who are passionate about the arts and education. We need art lovers who understand that an arts-rich future
begins today. We need you. www.ArtsAcademics.org

Big News from Texas Center for Arts + Academics! 🎨✨
We are thrilled to announce that Texas School of the Arts and Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts are merging under one Texas public school charter!

What does this mean for our community?
• More Resources for the Classroom: By streamlining our administrative tools, software, and state reporting, we are freeing up funding to invest directly where it matters most: our teachers, classrooms, and arts and academic programs.
• A Seamless Journey for Students: We are excited to create a unified pathway for our young artists. Students who complete the 5th grade at TeSA can now transition directly to FWAFA without a separate audition process.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to make our schools stronger, more efficient, and deeply dedicated to the arts!
