It's time for another FW Fringe Friday - ! The FW Fringe is only 7 weeks away!
Each Friday leading up to the 10th Annual International Fort Worth Fringe Festival - we’ll be highlighting one of the 10 performing act of the festival.
The highlights continue with yet another first time appearance at the FW Fringe - Harper Jones & Co. and their piece I GRIEVE DIFFERENT.

I GRIEVE DIFFERENT
"I Grieve Different" is a solo, multi-character theatrical piece centered on The Child, a young Black woman navigating grief after her grandmother’s death. Guided by suppressed ancestral melodies, the story unfolds in the family home during the repass, where memory, judgment, love, and silence collide. As The Child processes her grief, she is drawn into her family’s unknown past, rooted in a small town called Tatum, 150 miles east of Dallas, where family and faith are inseparable, perfection is expected, and legacy conceals deeply buried truths.
By uncovering the secrets and sacrifices that shaped her family long before she could name them, she witnesses Lucky, a hustler driven by survival; Victoria, silenced by abuse and erasure; and Chantel, caught between expectations and disappointment while pursuing a life that was never fully hers. As her understanding of family and faith begins to unravel, The Child faces the truth that grief and legacy are intertwined, and that secrets kept in the name of preservation ultimately come to light. I Grieve Different questions whether breaking inherited silence is an act of betrayal or strength, offering an intimate exploration of Black womanhood, generational trauma, and the fragile hope of becoming.
