Two older guys; Ben Matheson and I met up with a younger guy I hired in 1984.
We met up with Jeffery Askam at Moe’s Cafe in River Oaks to pick up things from him for the new SFD office building display of its legacy.
I turned 89 in May.

Ben Matheson will be turning 99 soon and still traveling the world for Parker Stratoflex Products Division. He just returned from attending the Paris Air Show.

We have received several boxes of items several of you and greatly appreciate your help!

We are still needing things and these things have certainly brought back memories from the 1950 era forward to Ben and I will to many of you old timer’s!

Ben and I are still available to meet you to get things you might have and willing to donate. Please put your name and contact in the containers.

Pictures provided by Jeff Askam.

We received several items for the display area from Richard and Elton Jackson’s Stratoflex collections today. The Story of Zing Zong and records. watches, Tie Bar, Parker Stratoflex Ball Point Pens, belt buckles, note pads, cap, folder, and ladies mirror. Richard donated his 5 year service pin and ID Card for punching the time.

Also Ben and received email from Wayne Lampen who has some items to share. Ben is calling him.

Hope you all find a few things to share.

I had given Ben Matheson a box of items the other day including several different SF coffee cups, mechanical red pencils, Cross Silver Ball Point Pens, folders, big white ceramic ash tray, and old pictures. There were digital discs of all the old Stratoflex Magazines.

There were some early Newsletters announcing the opening of the California and Stone Mountain Georgia plants, and other major historic events in the Stratoflex legacy.

Also early letters from Mr. Kenneth Davis Sr, letter from CA Thomas to employees when he was retiring.

Thanks again for cleaning out and sharing some of your items for the display area of new office building.

Dear Fellow Retirees and Fellow Employees,

SPD New Office Building, Display Area of Stratoflex Legacy

You are all aware that a new Parker Stratoflex Products Division plant and office building is under construction at 220 Roberts Cutoff Rd. And we think that all of you are aware that there is a plan to have a display in the new office area or reception area devoted to the old/original Stratoflex company. This will help preserve the legacy and the history of the company for coming years so employees and visitors will be able to learn where we came from and how we developed.

To make this happen we need your help now.

Probably most of you have in your possession old Stratoflex items which you have kept. We are asking that you donate or loan items that would help us to design the display around. To get these items to us please contact me at [email protected] or Troy at [email protected].

We promise you that any item you provide which is not actually used will be returned to you, but please put a note on your item with your contact information.

This is very important and time is of essence so please give us the help we need.

Thank you in advance,

Ben Matheson/Troy Chapman

Many of you will remember Paul Adams our Expeditor of parts deliveries from Manufacturing, Cleburne, Mansfield and Purchasing! He went to Cleburne to work when Parker bought us.

The last few months he has been taking Water Color Painting Classes and became a great Artist. Attached are a few of this paintings he has shared with a group we meet and eat together most Thursday’s at different places!😁 Pretty for 3 months of lessons!👍
