Dear Friends,

Thank you for your gifts during this year’s North Texas Giving Day campaign. You helped us exceed our expectations!

The equipment and fuel used for our prescribed fire plan is funded directly by your support. These prescribed fires are essential in our management plan for prairie restoration efforts and caring for the environment, and burning back the overgrowth of last seasons grasses and invasive species.
With the tool of prescribed fire, we are creating a freshened landscape for the milkweed plants to emerge and grow large enough to be chosen by a Monarch Butterfly to lay her eggs. She is traveling through Texas now on her migration to the mountains of Mexico. The females don’t always lay eggs on their way south, but when the conditions are good, they will lay one more generation.

Your funds make a huge impact and help to support the iconic and imperiled Monarch Butterfly!

Accept our sincerest gratitude,

From your Friends of your Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge
