Fort Worth CERT Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a volunteer program designed to teach civilians disaster response at home and in their own community

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborh

ood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.

Today we mourn the loss of one of our own CERT members, Glenn Conner. Glenn always had a smile on his face and a random fact to share with you at a meeting or during a deployment. Since 2021, Glenn volunteered around 500 hours with CERT. He was also an active member of the department's Code Blue program. We'll miss you, Glenn!
