🪟From our College YL staff, Jake Peterson🪟

We just got back from LoneHollow College Weekend, and it was a blast! It was so much fun watching everyone come together to dive deeper into the Good News of Jesus and the impact it has on the world. Our leaders did an incredible job pouring into students throughout the weekend, and it was especially meaningful to see the Lord working through our cabin times with the guys. Those are moments I’ll never forget!

We’re excited that so many students who attended are eager to get more involved with Young Life, and a few have already signed up to head back to camp this summer as summer staff!

Our college ministry at TCU is flourishing, and we’re praying that the Lord would continue to open doors for college ministry to grow at other local colleges around Fort Worth.

⭐️AHHS YL Spotlight⭐️

Arlington Heights Young Life is a fun and mighty team with a BIG heart for Arlington Heights and for seeing students know and follow Jesus!

This semester, we’re especially focused on Contact Work: showing up, building relationships, and getting to know more students. We have some fun events coming up this fall, too! On October 16, we’ll be in the parking lot before school serving breakfast and celebrating the big football game that evening. Then, on October 19, we’ll be hanging out at Curly’s!

All the details can be found on our Instagram, so be sure to follow along and stay in the loop. We’re so excited for all that this semester holds!

We also couldn’t be more excited about the incredible group of leaders at Arlington Heights High School! They are so much fun and are genuinely excited to get to know students, build meaningful relationships, and earn the right to be heard.

Pray for our leaders, the events they’re hosting, and that students would keep showing up as our leaders continue to show up for them. We’re excited to see what the Lord does this semester!

🤠Meet The Mavericks & The Shepherds 🐑

Two groups of upperclassmen leaders who are dedicated to serving their peers. Rather than keeping their faith to themselves, they’re encouraged to turn their faith outward and serve those around them.

These students completely run club—from mixers and songs to program and raffles—and they’re constantly inviting their friends at school into all things Young Life.

It has been so fun to watch these students love and serve their friends, using their leadership and influence to ultimately point them to Jesus!

🥳 YoungLives is BACK! 🥳

Our first meetup after summer break was the perfect kickoff! Moms vs. Dads took over the kickball field—and the MOMS came ready! Final score: 12–5! 🏆

And the little ones were just as excited to be back, reuniting with their childcare friends and getting all the love from our amazing childcare team.

We wrapped up the night with a short talk about the invitation to the Great Banquet (Luke 14:15–24) and the beautiful reminder that there’s a place at God’s table for each of us.

Good laughs, community, babies, and Jesus. We’re SO excited to be back and ready for another great year together!

👋Meet Emily Sargent👋

Hey y’all! My name is Emily Sargent, and I’m so excited to be serving as the new Leader Care Coordinator for Fort Worth Young Life!

My role is focused on supporting and caring for our volunteer leaders and mentors across Fort Worth. After spending ten years serving high school and college students in both Georgia and Texas, investing in leaders has become something that is very close to my heart. I’m truly grateful that God has given me the opportunity to serve in this capacity!

Simply put, for our leaders, I’m here to be in their corner. Whether that’s through prayer, encouragement, or helping coordinate practical ways to support and care for them, my desire is to help our leaders feel loved, supported, and uplifted as they share the Gospel and invest in the lives of students across our city.

I’m so excited to be part of the Fort Worth Young Life community and can’t wait to get to know more of you! 🤍

Emily has already been the most incredible addition to our FWYL committee! In just the first couple of weeks, she has been such a tremendous blessing to both our leaders and staff.

It is such a gift to have someone whose heart is simply to love, encourage, and pour into our Young Life leaders across Fort Worth. We are so thankful the Lord brought Emily to Fort Worth and gave her such a genuine heart for our Young Life community.

We truly believe her presence is a gift from the Lord, and we can’t wait to see all that He will do through her! We’re so lucky to have you, Emily!

☀️Glimpse of Summer: Carolina Point Edition☀️

From June 20-28, we took 27 high school students from Paschal and North Side to experience Young Life camp for the first time at Carolina Point. It turned out to be an incredible week. Some might even say the best week of their lives! It was amazing to watch students from across Fort Worth come together through events, club, and cabin time, truly investing in and championing one another. It was a beautiful picture of all that the Lord is doing through Young Life across our city. One of the greatest joys of the week was watching several of the boys decide to give their lives to Jesus. There is nothing sweeter than seeing the Lord transform hearts. We truly couldn’t have asked for a
better camp weck. Overall, it was a ten out of ten experience!

👋Meet Brandon Boehme👋

One of Fort Worth Young Life’s biggest champions!!!

Camp isn’t just for students… adults can have the best week of their lives too!

Brandon and his wife, Cindy, served as Adult Guest Hosts at Crooked Creek Ranch earlier this summer, and they jumped ALL IN. From “officiating” the volleyball tournament to embracing the camp’s Christmas theme, they experienced firsthand why Young Life camp is such a special place.

The best part? They loved it so much that they’re already hoping to come back next summer and they want to bring more friends along!

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to experience Young Life camp as an adult, we’d love to tell you more. Trust us…it’s a week filled with laughter, incredible people, unforgettable memories, and seeing God at work in amazing ways.

👋Meet Houston & Chris👋

“My name is Houston Hartung, and I’ll be a senior at Paschal High School next year. I recently had the incredible opportunity to publicly share my faith through baptism. While I’ve always grown up around Christianity, my Young Life leader helped inspire me to pursue a deeper relationship with God and has been an incredible example in my life. I wanted Chris to baptize me because he has consistently been there for me through both the highs and lows. I’m so grateful for the role he has played in helping me take this next step in my faith.”

“Hey, my name is Chris McGehee, and I’m a Young Life leader at Paschal High School. Getting to walk alongside these guys has been such a blessing. I met Houston about a year ago at one of our first Campaigners, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of watching God work in his life, soften his heart, and ultimately lead him to a relationship with Christ. When Houston asked me to baptize him, I felt incredibly honored. Seeing the Lord move in Houston’s life and in the lives of so many of our Young Life guys over the past year has been such a gift, and I can’t wait to see what He continues to do.”

Watching our teenage friends truly understand what it means to follow Jesus and then choose to take the next step of going public with their faith, with all of their friends there to celebrate alongside them, is one of the greatest joys. There’s just nothing better than that.
