Good morning!
The Fort Worth Posse met for the first time last evening! Our plan was to have swimming and ice cream, but mother nature decided to break-up the swimming portion of the party with a lighting & rain storm. We stayed inside and had a great time catching up with each family.
The FW Posse has its origins at Kinderfrogs, the early childhood development program for children with Down Syndrome. Kinderfrogs is part of the College of Education at TCU.
We certainly didn’t know it then, but those years of watching our children grow together would turn into decades-long relationships! Our children are now young men on the brink of heading out into the world.
We are blessed to have many resources available to us for work, healthcare and community, but we’re still facing many questions about thier daily lives and thier futures. Adults with special needs can deal with isolation, boredom filled by screen time, and a lack of purpose and growth.
The FW Posse is a way for our young men to work, be a part of a team, have pride in thier daily work, serve the community, and be a source of goodwill and good times!
The FW Posse offers event services. Our services include delivery, set-up, clean-up and break down of tables, chairs, trashcans, coolers and accessories for a party or event!
During the event we will bus tables, fill cups with ice, run errands and anything that makes hosting a party less stressful.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be developing our team, training on event set-up and tasks, and growing as a group of friends and coworkers.
We’ll be posting along the way, so we would love for you to go on this journey with us! We’ll need your prayers, encouragement, advice and referrals.
See you soon!
