Welcome to our newest Christ's Haven houseparents, Nadeen & Mark.

Our trauma-informed, family model of care means that children & teenagers live with houseparents in one of the seven houses in our neighborhood of homes. Houseparents step in as co-parents for around 5-8 displaced youth providing the caretaking and guidance needed throughout childhood and adolescence.

Whether a child lives at Christ's Haven for a few months or several years, our houseparents care for them as their own instilling normalcy, dignity, and hope into their lives.

We are thrilled to have Nadeen & Mark as part of the Christ's Haven team!

On Father's Day we take a moment to honor the men who step in as father figures for the youth living at Christ's Haven. Days like today can include a multitude of feelings. While our houseparents can never replace a child's biological father, they can cultivate formative relationships that will benefit a child for years to come.

We celebrate the time, love, and sacrifices made by all of the father figures at Christ's Haven.

For the majority of the youth living at Christ's Haven, there is not a relationship with a biological father. Houseparents stand in in all of the ways a child needs a parent. That means the role of a father figure in that child's life is critical.

➡️When a child has a high-quality relationship with a positive father figure, they are twice as likely to display strong emotional resilience and healthy self-esteem.

➡️Youth with active, loving father figures are 50% less likely to engage in high-risk behaviors during adolescence.

➡️A positive father figure or mentor doubles the likelihood of youth successfully transitioning into higher education or stable employment.
