Celebrating our FW Tri Club athletes and volunteers here 🥳

Anthony and Sam traveled to China to take on Ironman 70.3 Shanghai, while Jason and Renee headed to Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga. Meanwhile back home, PlayTri Fort Worth drew a big crew of club members.

We had seasoned racers like Ola, Johnny, and Glenn, newer faces like Eric, and first-timers like Adam, Shaun, Moises, Keely, and Nate all out there getting it done.

Members also showed up to volunteer everywhere from body marking to the finish line. Triathlon only works because people are willing to show up for each other, and this club does that exceptionally well.

We’re proud of every member who represented FWTC this weekend, no matter the distance, pace, or task!

FW Tri Club was busy last weekend.

At TexasMan, members took on a favorite local race and represented well across different distances. Some got to swim. Some had their swim canceled. Some race veterans have had swims canceled so often it’s almost the expectation.

Nancy stacked another legendary week by racing the London Marathon after having already raced Ironman Texas and taken on the Boston Marathon earlier in the SAME week.

We also had club members racing at the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon and half marathon.

Different races in different states and nations. We’re proud of each of these members who keep putting in the work and showing up.

Fort Worth Tri Club showed up at Ironman Texas last weekend.
Congratulations to our athletes:
Rachel – first 140.6 finish!
Mayrena – 7th full Ironman, first postpartum at 9.5 months.
Garrett – Kona qualified - again.
Nancy – podium finish, and the only athlete to complete all 15 years of Ironman Texas. Now in the final four for Last Competitor Standing.
Jason – opened another season of racing multiple full Ironmans.
And an extra shoutout to every FWTC member who drove down just to cheer. The sport runs on people like that!

We’re calling this one: “The Progression of Realizing You Just Smashed Your Goal Time.”

Two weeks ago, Anthony toed the line at his first ever 70.3 in Little Elm. Today, in Galveston, he obliterated his goal time.
No easing in. Just straight to, “Yep, I do this now.”

With so many of our crew still recovering from Little Elm, Anthony rolled into Galveston as our solo club representative. We are so proud of you, friend. These finish line moments say it all.

Last night’s monthly meeting brought 50 members and supporting family. We had a lot to celebrate and it showed up in the laughter, energy and the genuine way that members connect with each other.

Each story mattered. Each finish line got cheered.

We had a guest appearance from Coach Orlando Carrillo from FWISD Daggett Middle School. What started as a tiny athletic program has grown into something powerful, with dozens of kids now participating in track and cross country. This is in part to the support, gear, and encouragement from this community of members.

This is our mission in action:
Have fun in the sport we love, and give back in a way that impacts lives.

If you ever wonder why there would be a social triathlon club that isn’t centered on paying a group of coaches to train its athletes, it’s this.
The people. The energy. The way we show up for one another.

The inaugural IRONKIDS Triathlon at Ironman Dallas–Little Elm was something special.

Hundreds of kids got their first taste of triathlon this weekend, starting their race with a water slide into the pool and finishing to cheers from an army of volunteers.

FW Tri Club was proud to play a big role in making it happen. Our members showed up everywhere: helping run the race, volunteering on the course, and cheering every young athlete to the finish line.

A special shoutout to our own Carey Cribbs, who served as the IronKids Triathlon Coordinator and helped bring this event to life.

Encouraging youth in sport is one of the core missions of our club. Seeing these kids race, smile, and cross their first finish line reminded us exactly why that matters.

Future triathletes were born this weekend.

Ironman Dallas–Little Elm 70.3, where Texas weather said, “Hold my beer and watch what I can do.”

Each of our members who toed the start line finished the race, several tackling the 70.3 distance for the first time.

We also had members serving as Captains, one on the medical team, and one directing the entire race. Add in an army of members volunteering along with their supportive spouses, and our club was everywhere.

This entire race weekend was a perfect example of what our club is about: showing up for the sport we love and for each other.

Congratulations to all of our athletes. We’re proud of every one of you.

Today we lived our mission.

At the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Dallas-Little Elm, the Ironman organization hosted an IronKids Triathlon, and our FW Tri Club stepped up to make it happen.

Carey Cribbs took on the role of IronKids Coordinator, working with Nancy Goodnight, Ironman Dallas 70.3 Race Director. BOTH ladies are active members of the club and leaders in the sport. They organized the event, rallied volunteers, and ensured young athletes had a safe and unforgettable first triathlon experience.

The kids began their race indoors with a ride down a water slide into the pool to start their swim.

An army of our members and spouses showed up to serve registering, guiding, cheering and helping keep everything moving smoothly and safely for hundreds of kiddos!

Our club’s mission is to have fun in the sport we love while giving back to our community, especially promoting youth in sport. Today we got to do exactly that.

Other Ironkids activities today included one-mile and half-mile fun runs and a Diaper Dash.

If swimming, biking, and running with a great group of people sounds like fun, come play with us!
