SMART goals are important because they turn general intentions into clear, actionable plans. Instead of saying, “I want to improve my career,” a SMART goal defines exactly what you want to accomplish and how you will know when you have succeeded.

SMART stands for:

S – Specific: Clearly defines what you want to accomplish.
M – Measurable: Establishes how you will track progress and success.
A – Achievable: Sets a realistic goal based on your resources and circumstances.
R – Relevant: Connects the goal to your larger priorities, purpose, or desired outcomes.
T – Time-Bound: Establishes a deadline or timeframe.

Tarrant County embraces, yet more, POSITIVE CHANGE! 🧱🔨

UGM-TC is excited to announce that Melondy Doddy-Munoz, Ph.D. is joining our team as Vice President of Strategic and Economic Development!

Dr. Melondy Doddy-Munoz, a Fort Worth native, is a dedicated community advocate and leader committed to building a more just, inclusive, and prosperous Fort Worth. Through extensive service on nonprofit, city, and county boards and commissions, she works to shape policy, strengthen institutions, and create opportunities for communities too often left out of the conversation.

Dr. Doddy-Munoz currently serves on several boards, including the Tarrant County Child Protective Services Board, City of Fort Worth Building Standards Commission, Texans Can Academies Board of Trustees, Women In Power Empowering, The F.I.R.M., and The Black Academy of Arts and Letters Millennial Board. She has also held previous appointments with the City of Fort Worth Board of Adjustment and the Lenora Rolla Heritage Museum Board.

A proud first-generation graduate, Dr. Doddy-Munoz has held leadership roles in higher education, including at TCU. She earned a B.S. in Comparative Religious Studies, an M.Ed. with an emphasis in Student Development and Leadership in Higher Education, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from TCU, along with multiple graduate certifications. She is also a credentialed mediator and TBRI® Practitioner.

At the heart of her work is a commitment to dismantling systemic barriers, empowering individuals, and building stronger communities. Outside of her professional and civic work, she is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters who enjoys traveling, culinary adventures, and spending quality time with her family.

We're officially on a cloud! Thanks to the Golden Rule Foundation & The Mock Family, we just received our very first VEHICLE DONATION!!! Oh man we couldn't be more excited about this!

This is a historic day for Building Pathways!

We are in the business of removing barriers for disadvantaged community members while boosting economic mobility through direct hires into industry and personal development coaching! So why collaborate with Building Pathways...?

Because THIS happens! Today a vehicle was donated, two years ago we provided funds for all of our clients to make a downpayment on a new vehicle, earlier this year we rescued 14 people out of homelessness, we yank community members out of domestic violence nightmares, and we do all that we can to breathe life into our clients on a daily basis.

Any person in close proximity to our services is destined to level up, if that is what they truly desire. Encourage your unemployed to join our Career Mapping Program. Encourage job providers to source our pool of ambitious talent... we stand as your partner to do good in this world.

To declare is to state with certainty. So the key is to dream big… visualize the greatest possibilities… and then reverse engineer the concise plan that will bring the vision into fruition.
