The Muslim Employees Resource Group (MERG) is an employee resource group formed by the AMR Muslim employees in support of the corporation's diversity initiative. It includes Muslim employees from all of AMR subsidiary companies, in several different stations throughout the system. Members of the MERG come from many different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, including men and women from various pro

fessions and age groups. Membership to Muslim ERG is open to all active and retired AMR employees who support the mission and objectives of the group as stated below.

Assalamu Alaikum!

As the blessed month of Ramadan comes to a close, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all Muslims for a joyous and peaceful Eid al-Fitr celebration. May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds, and may this Eid be a time of happiness, love, and unity for us and our loved ones.

To our non-Muslim friends and neighbors, I extend my heartfelt greetings on this occasion. Eid al-Fitr is a time of celebration for Muslims, but it is also an opportunity for us to come together as a community and share our joy and blessings with those around us. May this festive season bring you and your loved ones happiness, peace, and prosperity.

Let us remember the true spirit of Eid, which is one of gratitude, generosity, and compassion towards all of Allah's creations. Let us also remember those who are less fortunate and extend our hands of kindness to them during this blessed time.

Eid al-Fitr is a celebration that comes at the end of Ramadan (the month in the Islamic calendar where Muslims around the world forego food and drink from sunrise to sunset).

Ramadan - a time of prayer, self-reflection and fasting - was very different this year, yet some vital aspects remained the same. While most of us were still unable to gather at the masjids and mosques, we were able to fast and pray with our families at home and connect with friends and loved ones virtually. On Thursday, May 13th, 2 billion Muslims across the globe will celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
May Allah SWT accept all our prayers this Ramadan and bring peace upon our brothers and sisters around the world. May Allah SWT keep our faith strong and give us strength to help all those who are in need.
