Meet our 2026 Honoree, Lucy. 💛🎗️
Join us for The Hustle on August 15—a 5K run or 1K walk—at Woodshed at 7:45am with all proceeds benefiting Cook Children’s pediatric cancer research, where Lucy received care.
At just 3 years old, Lucy was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Childhood quickly became chemo, hospital stays, spinal taps, transfusions, medications, and uncertainty. For more than two years, she faced treatment with courage far beyond her years.
Today, at 8 years old and 2½ years off treatment, Lucy is thriving.
She’s creative, adventurous, compassionate, and full of joy. She loves school, making friends, dancing, creating art, and living each day to the fullest.
Lucy’s story is about more than cancer. She shows what hope, groundbreaking research, compassionate care, and community can make possible.
We are honored to celebrate Lucy this year—not only for what she has overcome, but for the light she continues to shine for every child and family facing childhood cancer.
As we gather for The Hustle, we remember the children still in treatment, honor survivors carrying visible and invisible scars, and hold close the families who have lost a child. Your support helps families avoid facing cancer alone and fuels the care and resources every child needs.
