The First Priority of America (FPoA) mission is to take the hope of Christ to every student. We do that by uniting the church to equip students so that every teen on every middle and high school campus in the United States can hear the Gospel from a friend. Its success is envisioned to change the spiritual and cultural climate of the schools and the world through students. FPoA’s unique low cost a
nd successful approach, now in its 25th year, provides a distinctive strategy for the local Church to connect them with middle and high school Christian students who will start Christian clubs in their public schools and share the Hope in Christ message to their peers on campus. FPoA operates in 22 states, including Texas, with over 18,000 students in nearly 900 clubs accepting Jesus through their club outreach in the last 24 months. Our plan is to take the Hope of Christ to every student in every school district in America with a special focus on specific strategic areas, especially Fort Worth and the surrounding cities and towns in Tarrant County, TX. According to the Barna Group, two out of three born-again Christians (64%) committed to Christ before their 18th birthday (Barna Group 2016). It has been estimated that only 12% of America’s youth attend church weekly, yet 95% attend school daily. This obviously indicates that any efforts to reach the youth culture in America must be centered around public schools at an early age. FPoA’s proven strategy equips, encourages, and empowers Christian youth as missionaries to their schools, reaching their peers with the evangelistic focus of sharing Christ. Due to the lack of spiritual development, other social ills occur, including parental abandonment, poverty, and psychological and emotional stress, leading to increased student su***de (the number two cause of death among America’s teens).
