With triple-digit temperatures forecast across Texas this week, we want to ensure you are aware of the cooling stations, water distribution sites, and other community resources available to support residents experiencing homelessness through September 18.
Cooling Stations:
Community Crossroads

• Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

• Water and snacks provided
Union Gospel Mission
1350 E. Lancaster Ave.
• Monday–Friday
• 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
• Sack lunch provided
• Pets welcome if kenneled (kennels available)
• Storage space available
True Worth Place
1513 E. Presidio St.
• Open daily
• 7 a.m.–3 p.m.
Water Distribution Sites:
Presidio Courtyard
1456 E. Presidio St. • Open daily • 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
When We Love
1100 E. Lancaster Ave. • Monday–Friday • 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Mabee Center
1855 E. Lancaster Ave. • Open daily
• Bottled water available during meal service and until 8 p.m., while supplies last
On days when temperatures reach 100°F or higher, Presbyterian Night Shelter will offer early intake for overnight beds beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Additionally, for the fourth year, Reliant's Beat the Heat Centers are providing residents with a place to cool off, enjoy water and snacks, and participate in activities at the following community centers:
• Como Community Center, 4660 Horne St.
• Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 5565 Truman Dr.
• Northside Community Center, 1100 N.W. 18th St.
• Worth Heights Community Center, 3551 New York Ave.
