Meet Don the Barber!
As we continue honoring Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we’re excited to introduce someone who is helping us connect Aaliyah’s story with even more families across Fort Worth and North Texas.
Don is the owner of Panther City Fades, host of the We Got The Funk podcast, and the founder of Trinity Vision Media. Through his work as a barber, storyteller, and content creator, he celebrates Fort Worth’s history while highlighting the people and organizations making a difference in our community.
He’s also family! Our founder, LeTisa Carter, is Don’s big cousin, and he’s bringing his storytelling and media experience to the Aaliyah Is Healed Foundation to help share our mission and expand our community outreach.
Barbershops and beauty salons have always been more than places to get a haircut or a new style. They’re places where people build trust, share experiences, exchange information, and look out for one another. Don understands the influence beauty professionals have in their communities, and together, we’re working to turn those everyday connections into opportunities for families to discover support.
In this video, Don shares Aaliyah’s story and introduces the mission that grew from her legacy: empowering and impacting one family at a time through support, resources, and education.
