🐴 Meet the Wrangler: Meghan!
Meghan has been part of the CCEC family for 15 years, and her story here started in the saddle as a lesson student.
Over the years, she went from taking lessons to becoming a Wrangler, and eventually a trainer teaching horseback riding. It’s pretty special to see someone who first came here to learn now helping others discover the same love of horses and horsemanship. 🤎
Her favorite horse is Silver Magnus… because, well, he’s her horse! 😉 But when it comes to her favorite camp horse, there’s no question: Poncho holds that spot.
Poncho was actually one of the very first horses Meghan rode when she started taking lessons at the Y, and she describes him as “the sweetest angel.” 🥹🐴
Meghan has ridden both Western and English and even spent some time barrel racing before retiring Magnus from the scene.
But what she loves most about working at the Equestrian Center goes far beyond riding:
“I love working at the equestrian center because it has taught me discipline and how to be compassionate and patient. Being able to work with horses and teach people of all ages how to have horsemanship has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. I also love hearing about how horseback riding has impacted my students’ lives outside of the barn as well.”
And we love that last part, because it really captures what we hope happens here at CCEC. The lessons learned around horses don’t always stay at the barn. The confidence, patience, responsibility, and compassion that come from working with horses can follow kids and adults into all areas of their lives.
After 15 years, Meghan has gone from being a student learning those lessons herself to helping pass them on to the next generation. We’re pretty lucky to have her as part of our Wrangler team. 🤎🐴
Thanks for being part of the CCEC family, Meghan!
