Huge thank you to everyone who joined us last week at our Pet CPR and first aid event with guest speaker Dr. Skylar Duck! We hope you all had a wonderful time and apply this event for your SEED credit (see Kadi’s email for details)! Keep an eye out for our next event in April👀

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our puppy kissing booth yesterday! We hoped you enjoyed getting snuggles from future service dogs Jolley, Sierra and Dusty.

If you would like to help support the mission of .sit and Canine Companions please donate to the boxes we have in IREB that will go directly to these amazing raisers and the new puppies they are accepting in the coming weeks! Donations are eligible for SEED credit!

Spread some puppy love with ACVP! On February 17th in the IREB second floor lobby we will have Canine Companions future service dogs in training at a kissing booth photo opportunity. Come grab some puppy kisses and learn more about the mission of Canine Companions to provide highly trained service dogs to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge to the recipient.

Also throughout the entire month of February we are gathering donations for the puppy raising club at UTD! These college students donate their time and money to raise service dogs for Canine Companions on a college student budget. To help this group with their hard work and so they can continue raising puppies to become amazing service dogs, we have a list of their most needed items and will be taking monetary donations as well! Boxes for donations will be available on the second and third floor of IREB and this does count for SEED credit (service learning pending).

Thank you to everyone who came to our final event of the fall semester! And a huge thank you to the UNT Health Department of Lab Animal Medicine (DLAM) for hosting this amazing tour of the vivariums on campus and teaching us about how lab animals play a crucial role in drug discovery and development!

DLAM advises and educates researchers, staff, students and other professionals on animal experimentation issues and promotes best practices for the responsible use of animals. This tour and discussion with the amazing staff that care for these animals showed how much they put the animals first and truly love and care for them💜

We hope to continue this event in future years and that you’ll join us next semester for more fun activities!

Please join us for our November meeting for a tour of the UNT Health lab animal facilities! This is an exciting opportunity to see how animals are involved in research and the care that goes into keeping them happy and safe.

IMPORTANT! You MUST RSVP to participate in this event. Please either scan the QR code in this post or look out for the email from Mr. Luna about this event to fill out the Google Form to RSVP by Nov. 11th to secure your spot on the tour.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our food drive for !!! Together we gathered and packaged 213 pounds of dog and cat food that will be delivered to those in need of feeding their beloved pets!

All of your donations have been leading up to this! Our October ACVP meeting is where we will be packing up your donations for Don’t Forget to Feed Me! If you haven’t had the chance to donate yet you still can up until the meeting time. And a reminder that the class that submits the most donations will win cookies for your entire class🎉😋

Reminder! Our Don’t Forget to Feed Me pet food drive is happening now! If you’ve noticed a box outside of your pharmacy classroom in IREB that’s your class’ drop off location. The class with the most donations will win FREE cookies for their cohort! We need donations to hold our packing event on October 21st so rush to your nearest pet store. Any pet food brand or size will work!🐶🐱
