Construction is moving forward! We have the memorial and donor wall!

Be a part of history by contributing to the Mr. Fred Rouse Memorial Park and securing a personalized paver in this sacred space of remembrance, reflection, and healing. Your gift not only supports the completion of the memorial but ensures that names, stories, and legacies are permanently honored.

Additional giving levels offer opportunities for benches, plaques, trees, and more as part of our Capital Campaign goal.

Last Thursday, Fred Rouse III had the opportunity to speak at Docket Dialogue alongside elected officials and community leaders, sharing the story and legacy of his grandfather, Mr. Fred Rouse. Through this important conversation, attendees learned about the events surrounding the 1921 lynching of Mr. Rouse and the ongoing efforts to preserve this history through the Mr. Fred Rouse Memorial Park. We are grateful for opportunities like these to raise awareness, encourage meaningful dialogue, and advance community understanding, healing, and justice.

Fred Rouse III and Erial Smith, Program Manager for the Tarrant County Coalition for Peace and Justice, attended the City of Fort Worth's Juneteenth Kickoff at City Hall. The celebration recognized the extraordinary legacy and hard work of Dr. Opal Lee while bringing the community together to celebrate freedom, history, and progress. We also enjoyed supporting the many local vendors and organizations that helped make the event a success.

What an inspiring morning this past Saturday at the 2026 Ecumenical Breakfast of Prayer, kicking off the Juneteenth Strong celebrations in Fort Worth. Surrounded by faith leaders, community advocates, and residents committed to unity and justice, the event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of freedom, faith, and collective action.

One of the highlights of the morning was hearing from Fred Rouse III, who was among the distinguished guest speakers. As a true powerhouse for truth, remembrance, and racial justice, Mr. Rouse continues to honor his family's legacy through his unwavering commitment to education, healing, and community engagement. His words challenged us to remember our history, embrace our shared humanity, and continue the work of building a more just future.

The celebration was made even more special as we honored the remarkable Dr. Opal Lee and her century of leadership, service, and advocacy. Thank you to Baker Chapel AME Church, Unity Unlimited, and all who made this meaningful gathering possible. What a beautiful way to begin Juneteenth Strong 2026!

It was an honor to attend the Fort Worth Black Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon, where this year's theme, "The Work That Builds Legacy," highlighted the importance of investing in efforts that create lasting impact for future generations. Thank you to R.D. Howard Construction for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring event. It was wonderful to connect with community leaders, business owners, and changemakers who are committed to strengthening Fort Worth through leadership, collaboration, and service. Together, we continue building a legacy that will benefit our community for years to come.

What an incredible opportunity today!

Thanks to an impromptu conversation sparked by Dr. Timeka Gordon, TCCPJ President Fred Rouse III had the honor of speaking to students at Brite Divinity School. The week-long course is being taught by Rev. Earle J. Fisher, Ph.D., Senior Pastor of Abyssinian Baptist Church, and provided a meaningful space for dialogue, reflection, and learning.

During the visit, the class listened to and reflected on Mr. Rouse's 2021 sermon and song, both of which deeply moved those in attendance. The experience created a powerful connection between history, faith, justice, and community—values that continue to guide the work of TCCPJ and the Mr. Fred Rouse Memorial Project.

We are grateful to Dr. Gordon, Rev. Fisher, and the students of Brite Divinity School for welcoming us into this important conversation. Opportunities like these remind us of the power of storytelling to educate, inspire, and bring people together.
