We were grateful to join Jodi Yellowfish for the Transformational Fundraising: From Grassroots to Groundbreaking discussion, where she sat with fellow artists and cultural leaders to talk about community, relationships, resources, and sustaining meaningful cultural work.

We’re excited to share that Beyond the Land Acknowledgment, featuring Jodi Yellowfish, has been postponed to Saturday, October 17! Join us at Kinfolk House from 1–3:30 PM for a thoughtful conversation exploring responsible land acknowledgment, Indigenous histories in our region, the distinction between Native history and living Native communities, and how acknowledgment can move toward meaningful action.

During the conversation, Dr. Torres spoke about Kinfolk House and how our organization connects community, culture, and the arts through meaningful relationships and a shared vision.

✨ As The Places We Carry comes to a close, join us Saturday, December 12 for What We Carry Forward: Artist Talk—an afternoon of reflection, conversation, and reciprocity with the exhibition’s featured artists.

🎨 Featuring Verónica Ibargüengoitia, Murielle White, and Brandi Waller-Pace, this closing gathering will include a final exhibition walkthrough and community reflection.
*
Together, we’ll celebrate the artists, honor the stories shared throughout the exhibition, and consider what we choose to carry forward beyond the gallery.

🌟 Please join us in welcoming Jaden E. McCreary, our new Gallery Assistant, to the Kinfolk House team! We are excited to bring her creativity, perspective, and passion for art and community into our growing work.
*
Jaden E. McCreary is a Houston-born, Dallas-based multimedia artist whose work explores themes of liberation, sovereignty, and healing through joyous reflection.
*
She received a BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Drawing from Texas State University. Since then, she has worked with various museums, galleries, and nonprofit organizations, fostering connections between communities through art and culture.
*
Her work has been exhibited at Chapman Collective Gallery and Pencil on Paper Gallery in Dallas, Texas; Mobile Government Plaza in Mobile, Alabama; and The Arthur Rose Museum in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
*
We are thrilled to welcome Jaden as our Gallery Assistant and look forward to all that she will bring to the Kinfolk House community!
