During , Cook Children's in partnership with Art Tooth invites you to experience ‘Sent with Care’’, a public art exhibit featuring original postcards created by our nurses.

Sent with Care celebrates the everyday work of pediatric nurses at Cook Children’s. The project uses thoughtful data storytelling to make the invisible work of nursing more visible. Participants observed one aspect of their work or experience over time, tracked it, and created a postcard-sized visual that turns those data points into a personal story that illustrates the breadth, complexity, and value of pediatric nursing. Together, these postcards honor the expertise, presence, advocacy and human connection that nurses bring to children and families every day.

The Opening Reception is TONIGHT Friday, October 9 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the South Main District MicroPark (105 S. Main St., Fort Worth) in the pink shipping container. The exhibit will remain on display through the next Third Thursday on November 19 from 5 - 8 pm.

Happy 100th Birthday to Fort Worth’s own Dr. Opal Lee!

Known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” Opal has spent decades turning her vision for freedom, remembrance, and equality into action. Her tireless advocacy helped bring Juneteenth to the national stage and played a pivotal role in its recognition as a federal holiday in 2021.

At 100 years young, her legacy continues to remind us that meaningful change can start with one person, one idea, and the determination to keep walking forward.

Happy Birthday, Opal! Thank you for showing the world what perseverance, purpose, and community can accomplish. Near Southside and all of Fort Worth is proud to celebrate you.

ArtsGoggle day transforms Magnolia Village into a mile-long celebration of local art, music, food, and the creative spirit that makes Fort Worth special. And this year, we’re asking you to show up, bring your people, support local artists, bolster our beloved retailers, and leave with both lots of great memories and a reminder to return to Magnolia Avenue! Next year, infrastructure construction will pause our signature festivals ArtsGoggle and Open Streets, but our team is already cooking up other ideas to keep foot traffic flowing, arts programming front and center, and our small businesses strong.
