It is with deepest regret, broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Greyson’s papaw, Jacob Gentry, Jr.
The family has set up a GoFund Me for arrangements for Jacob.
Please see below.

From Ciara, Jacob’s daughter, Greyson’s Momma and President of the Greyson Gentry Foundation:

This all happened so quickly and very unexpectedly. Anything is appreciated I just want to get my dad home and where he belongs.

This post is for Little Man’s papaw, Jacob Gentry-Secretary/Treasurer for the Greyson Gentry Foundation…..

From Ciara Halsema…

I never thought I’d have to write something like this. My dad, my strong, hardworking, never-asks-for-help dad—has been diagnosed with cancer. Just saying those words out loud still doesn’t feel real.

If you know my dad, you know he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He’s spent his life taking care of everyone else, always putting his family first. And now, he’s the one who needs help.

Cancer is terrifying. The treatments, the uncertainty, the endless doctor visits it’s all overwhelming. But on top of that, the medical bills are already stacking up. And the last thing I want is for my dad to be stressed about money when he should be focused on fighting this.

So, I’m swallowing my pride and asking, if you can donate, even just a little, it would mean everything to us. And if you can’t, please just share this, send a prayer, or keep him in your thoughts. We need all the love and support we can get right now.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

FROM GREYSONS MOM …..

As Greysons mother I’m going to share something very real very heartbreaking. This photo was taken earlier last year. I never shared this because looking at it makes me cry… I did write something to go along with this.

Every parent dreams of seeing their child run, laugh, and play with the freedom and joy of childhood. But for Greyson, that dream has been taken from him. Instead of climbing the jungle gym or chasing after his friends, he sits quietly in his wheelchair, watching from a distance as the world around him moves on without him.

Greyson didn’t choose this. He didn’t ask for the surgeries, the appointments, or the struggles that have come to define his daily life. He’s an innocent child who deserves the same opportunities as every other child on that playground. And yet, his life is shaped by barriers he had no part in creating.

As his mother, I live with the heartbreak of knowing that so much of his pain could have been avoided. The surgeries, the limitations, the isolation, they’re not just physical burdens; they’re emotional scars on a child who should never have to carry them. Watching Greyson sit on the sidelines isn’t just a reminder of what he can’t do; it’s a painful realization of what was taken from him, his chance to experience a childhood free from pain, struggle, and limitations.

This isn’t just about my son. It’s about the weight of choices and actions that ripple far beyond one moment. Every obstacle Greyson faces, every tear I’ve cried, every moment of helplessness we endure as a family, it’s all part of the impact. And while Greyson may not have a voice loud enough to express his pain, I will never stop speaking for him.

Greyson’s strength inspires me every day, but the truth is, no child should have to be this strong. No child should have to simply sit and watch the world go by, wishing they could be a part of it.
