End of Watch: Sergeant Billy Randolph, August 12, 2024
On the morning of August 12, 2024, Sergeant Billy Randolph was working a crash scene on Interstate 35 near Sycamore School Road. During the clean-up, Sergeant Randolph was standing outside his patrol vehicle when a vehicle drove the wrong way through barricades and struck him. He was transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately died from his injuries.
The driver that struck Sergeant Randolph was charged with intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to life in prison in March of 2026. Sergeant Randolph was a United States Air Force veteran and had served with the Fort Worth Police Department for 29 years.
He was 56 years old.

RIP sister!

The Department of War has identified 19-year-old U.S. Army Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, a Texan from Carrollton, as one of two American soldiers killed in Jordan.

Pvt. Gonzales was serving in support of the United States’ mission against ISIS when Iranian ballistic missiles and drones attacked the base where she was stationed. First Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, was also killed.

She was only 19 years old.

Today, Texas mourns one of our own. We honor her courage, her service and the extraordinary sacrifice she made for our nation.

Please keep the Gonzales family, her fellow soldiers and everyone who loved her in your prayers.

Rest in peace, PV2 Isabella Gonzales. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Ten years ago, Dallas and the entire law enforcement community were forever changed.

Sgt. Michael Smith, Cpl. Lorne Ahrens, Officer Brent Thompson, Officer Michael Krol, and Officer Patrick Zamarripa made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting others. Their courage, their service, and their sacrifice will never fade from memory.

TMPA stands with their families, their brothers and sisters in blue, and every officer who continues to answer the call in their honor.

We will never forget 7/7/16.

Texas We can do better!! Move over!!

Its the Law!!!

It’s not just common courtesy. It’s Texas law.

In June alone, six first responders were killed in roadway-related incidents.

These weren’t just officers and firefighters. They were sons, daughters, husbands, wives, parents, friends, and neighbors who never made it home.

Every time you see flashing lights on the side of the road, remember that someone is working just a few feet from traffic. They deserve to go home to their families just like you do.

🚨 Texas law requires drivers to Move Over or Slow Down when approaching emergency vehicles, law enforcement, fire apparatus, EMS, tow trucks, and TxDOT vehicles displaying emergency or warning lights. If you can safely move over, you must. If changing lanes isn’t possible or safe, you are required to slow down to at least 20 mph below the posted speed limit (or 5 mph if the speed limit is 25 mph or less).

This isn’t about avoiding a ticket.

It’s about preventing another funeral.

Please honor the memories of the six first responders we lost this month by doing one simple thing every time you see emergency lights:

Move Over. Slow Down. Save a Life.

Because someone is waiting for them to come home.
