Dear Followers,
This is how I have been feeling, and I really I need to get it off my chest so I can move forward! Thanks for listening!

Run a nonprofit they said! You can do it they said! You will be great at it. What they don’t tell you is how much time it takes. That you cannot please everyone, and the majority of the time you tick someone off because they feel cheated. They don’t tell you that you have to beg and plead for people to donate money or items. That you have to write grants and proposal that never turn into anything. That doing fundraisers are so exhausting, and sometimes don’t make what you think they should have. That when the Foundation doesn’t have the money for something you use your own over and over again. That sometimes you leave something for a family on their porch, and you really wish they would just send you a “got it” message so you can stop worrying about leaving it. They really don’t tell you how much your heart will get hurt, or prepare you for losing friendships.
They don’t tell you how much the smiles on those faces will make your heart soar. They don’t tell you how much a hug from another Mother means the world. They don’t tell you that you will drive hundreds of miles in one day, be totally exhausted, receive a picture and realize you have the energy to do it again tomorrow.
I write all this to remind you of all the people that help make nonprofits run. It takes a team to do this. DON’T TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED. In the last year we have seen three other nonprofits stop functioning. I think to myself all the time how I wish someone would have donated a little more, volunteered five minutes extra to help, or just told them “Thank You!” They would still be running.
Here is to all the people who SHOW UP for non profits. Thank you!
Donate! Volunteer! Say Thank You! All those things mean the world now more than ever when prices are high. Gas is expensive and donation are at there all time low.
