✨ Join us for our next Lincoln at the Library, "Mourning Lincoln,” where Dr. Martha Hodes explores reactions to Lincoln's death, which astounded a war-weary nation.

This free virtual Zoom program will be held on November 12, 2025, at 2 pm ET, registration is required! The Main Library will be streaming it live in the Genealogy Center, no registration required to attend the in-person live stream.

Martha Hodes is Professor of History at New York University, and holds degrees from Bowdoin College, Harvard University, and Princeton University. She is a winner of NYU’s Golden Dozen Teaching Award. Her 2015 book Mourning Lincoln was the winner of the Lincoln Prize of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, a longlist finalist for the National Book Award, a Wall Street Journal best book of the year, and a New York Times Editor’s Choice.

Allen County Public Library leaders announced Thursday that CFO David Sedestrom is retiring after 25 years, and 30-year employee Jill Noll will take over the role.
