CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S BEEN ONE WEEK SINCE OUR AMAZING FALL CARNIVAL?!

Our school grounds were filled with so much fun, and it wouldn't have been possible without the incredible local businesses and community partners who stepped up for our students!

A massive thank you to all of our amazing partners for hosting game booths, running interactive activities, and providing fantastic prizes for our kids. Your generosity, energy, and commitment to our school family made the entire evening unforgettable!

Thursday STEM: Leaf Chromatography!

Why do leaves change color? Discover hidden pigments! Tear colorful leaves into a glass, add rubbing alcohol to cover them, and place a coffee filter strip inside. Over a few hours, the liquid climbs the paper, separating pigments into bands of red, yellow, orange, and green!

If your morning commute feels quiet or grumbly, hit play on Chompers (short, bite-sized jokes and facts) or Greeking Out (National Geographic Kids’ epic retellings of mythology).

Mid-Week Reminder: Don't forget to grab your Lincoln Spirit Wear before the store closes this Friday, Oct 9th! Every PTA membership signed up this week also pushes your child's classroom closer to that PTA-supplied party!

Try-It Tuesday: The Walking Water Rainbow!

Got 15 minutes, food coloring, and paper towels? Watch capillary action in real time!

Supplies: 6 clear cups placed in a circle, food coloring (Red, Yellow, Blue), and folded paper towel strips.

Directions: Fill every other cup with water and food coloring (Red, Empty, Blue, Empty, Yellow, Empty). Bridge the cups with folded paper towels. Within an hour, watch colored water "walk" into the empty cups, mixing to form orange, green, and purple!

WHAT A NIGHT!

Thank you to all of our amazing Lincoln Elementary families, volunteers, community partners, and food trucks for making Friday’s Fall Carnival such a huge success! We had the absolute best time watching our students make memories.

🎪 IT’S CARNIVAL DAY, LINCOLN LIONS! 🦁✨

The countdown is finally over, and we are as ready as we can be! As soon as the final bell rings, our awesome volunteers will be getting all the games and activities set up for tonight. We can’t wait to see all of our amazing families come together for a fun evening!

Before you head over, here are a few quick reminders to keep everything running smoothly:

Parking: Our main lot is strictly reserved for our event volunteers and vendors. Please plan to park across the street when you arrive!

Bring that wonderful Lion pride! Remember your 3 B’s -- Let's keep things kind and positive for our whole school community!

Share Your Smiles: Enjoy every second of family time and take plenty of photos! If you take any great shots you're willing to share, please send them our way or drop them in the comments below. We’d love to see all the fun, and some might even make it into the yearbook!

Carnival is THIS Friday!

A huge THANK YOU for all the grade-level donations—they are making our games and prizes amazing! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.

Quick Reminders:

Wristbands & Lucky Draw: Pick up pre-orders or purchase at the entrance table. Wristbands cover games, bounce houses, and pony rides!

Parking: No parking in the school lot (reserved for teachers, community partners, and games). Please park at Shawnee or across the street.

Dress Warm: Friday is slated to be cooler, so bring a sweatshirt or coat! We plan to be outside, but will notify everyone ASAP if plans move indoors.

Food Trucks: Delicious dinner and treat options will be available for purchase.

Supervision: All students must be accompanied by an adult.
