Where does your PTA membership fee go? 💵

Ever wonder what actually happens when you sign up to be a PTA member? Does that money just vanish into a giant black hole? 🌀

Absolutely not! Here is how your small membership fee works wonders right here at our school:

📦 Part 1 stays right here: The majority of your fee goes directly into our school’s PTA general fund. This is the pool of money we use to purchase equipment, fund projects, and fulfill teacher grants.

🍎 Part 2 supports the bigger picture: A small portion goes to the state and national PTA, which provides us with our mandatory insurance (so we can safely host events like the Fall Carnival!) and gives our school access to educational programs.

💡 The Best Part? Joining the PTA does not mean you have signed a contract to volunteer. It simply means you are supporting the work we do for the kids. You can join just to stay in the loop, or you can join to help run a game booth—the choice is 100% yours!

FORT WAYNE WEEKEND EXPLORER: The Tree Canopy!

Looking for a free, shade-covered spot to let the kids burn off some energy this weekend? Pack some snacks and head to the Lindenwood Nature Preserve right here in Fort Wayne!

🦝 Elementary STEM Challenge: While you walk the trails, see if your kids can spot the differences between oak leaves and maple leaves, or listen for the "laughing" sound of a Downy Woodpecker!

📱 SUMMER SANITY CHECK: The App You Actually Need 📱

Did you know our district uses ParentSquare for almost all school communications, permission slips, and updates? If your phone blew up with notifications last school year, let’s fix that before August!

💡 Quick Tip: You don't have to get an alert every single time something is posted.
1️⃣ Open ParentSquare.
2️⃣ Tap the menu (top left) ➡️ Account ➡️ Notifications.
3️⃣ Change your setting to "Digest."

Instead of 10 texts a day, you’ll get ONE neat summary email at 6:00 PM with everything you missed.

On behalf of the PTA, a huge thank you to all the parent volunteers, teachers, assistants, and staff who team up to make Field Day run so smoothly and be such an absolute blast for the kids! We also want to send a big thank you to everyone who came out to support our Spring Movie Night.

The Morning Crew: Help us pop and pre-bag popcorn early in the day.

The Event Stars: Grab a quick 30-minute slot! Help out before the movie, during the show, or with the post-movie rush.

It’s the fastest way to support the school and still catch the feature film with your family.

Spring Movie Night is happening Friday May 15th, doors open at 6pm, with the movie starting at 6:30pm, and we want you to join the roundup! We’ll be watching Disney's Toy Story, so grab your favorite deputy and head over for a night of "infinity and beyond" fun. Please RSVP on Parent Square so we can tentatively count our favorite toys and make sure no one is left behind (helps us prep our stack stand)

Don’t forget that this is a 'Bring Your Own Chair' event, so make sure your "space ranger" gear includes a comfy seat! You can find more mission details in your student's Lincoln Folder coming home soon.
