Erin's House for Grieving Children

Unable to make it to Fort Wayne for the Healing Heart Hustle 5K last weekend, Erin’s family gathered in De Pere, Wisconsin, to walk a 2.1-mile course together on the same day. The walk was organized by David Farragh’s nephew, Mike Farragh’s son, and Erin’s cousin.

Together, they walked in memory of Erin, Dave, and Mike Farragh, honoring their lives and the love they continue to share as a family.

We are so grateful for the Farragh family and for the love and support they continue to show Erin’s House. 💜 Thank you for walking with us, no matter where you are.

On Sunday, more than 300 participants came out to honor loved ones, enjoy healing activities, and support families served by Erin’s House at the second annual Healing Heart Hustle 5K! Thank you to all those who raced, volunteered, sponsored, and supported the event 🩵

Together, we raised $26,000 to continue to support our mission of providing support to children, teens, and their families who have experienced a death, all at no cost.

It's , and this day can serve as a reminder that grief is not limited to a single day or moment. Youth and families who are grieving continue to experience their grief as they grow, change, and experience new milestones.

At the NACG, we recognize that grief is unique to each person and children often experience and express grief differently than adults. Race Day Details
• Sunday, August 30 | 5K Race begins at 2:00 PM.
• 300-yard Kids Dash for registrants aged 3-8 starts at 1:45 PM.
• Race Location: Outside of the Walb Student Union in the plaza on Purdue Fort Wayne's Campus.
• Arrival Time: Please plan to arrive by 1:30 PM to park, check in (if you haven’t picked up your packet yet), and get ready to hustle!
• Strollers and wagons welcome.
• For kids and families who would like to finish earlier, you're welcome to return to the plaza after passing it at approximately 1.2 miles into the race.

Post-Race Fun
• Join us post-race in the same plaza for snacks, games, snow cones, activities, and more! Medals will be awarded to the top two male and female finishers in each age group plus Overall and Masters awards presented around 2:45 PM. 🏅
• Custom memorial yard signs will be available to pick up after the race by 4:00PM. Pick up also available at Erin's House the next week, Monday through Thursday 9AM - 5PM, and Friday 9AM - 1PM.
