Free meals, hygiene, and harm reduction supplies every Sunday, 2 PM, Freimann Square! Food Not Bombs takes direct action to show it is not necessary to waste so much of the food we work so hard to grow and produce by organizing a voluntary system of food recovery and distribution. As a local chapter of a global mission, we reject the need to solve problems through violence, including violence of w

ar, violence of poverty, and violence against animals and earth; and above all, we collectively believe and know to be true: food is a right for everyone, not a privilege. If you are hungry, we serve you. We show by example how we can all work collectively, aside from leaders, to provide essential needs such as food, medical care, housing, and education. These systemic changes happen from the ground up: To organize, we must stop being so afraid to ask our neighbor for a cup of sugar. Our primary goal is to recover edible food that would have been discarded and redistribute it amongst ourselves, the people. We do this by building community relationships with local food providers, picking up any food they can’t sell and vegetables we ourselves have grown, and preparing vegetarian or vegan meals to share weekly. Food Not Bombs provides food to protestors, workers on strike, and people following natural and political crises as best we can as a local chapter. We also collect local resources and distribute them freely. We do not discriminate or have any requirements. Since we provide food wherever and whenever it is needed, we interfere with government and corporate ability to use food for social control. We threaten their ease to manipulate the hungry by giving tangible examples of how to solve this hunger and taking necessary steps to do so. Mutual aid, neighbors sharing, not charity. We ask: when over a billion people go hungry, how can we spend another dollar on war?

Our community rocks. Thank you for spreading word; we have so many new faces we hope to meet soon. Ahead of our Sunday Mealshare, we wanted to provide a loose guide to how we operate, what to expect, and how we can prioritize the safety of those we serve. ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE. Love you all.

- Dignity For All: Please do not photograph anyone or post their faces.
- Food Service: Hop in our server line, grab gloves, and say hello.
- Supplies Table: We provide hygiene supplies, first aid, harm reduction, menstrual supplies, etc. Feel free to assist at this table.
- Cooking: Feel free to bring a dish, but LET US KNOW ahead of time. We aim for allergen friendly dishes, but we write out whether it contains meat, dairy, etc. Proper food safety measures are expected from each of our cooks and food donations.
- Setup & Teardown: Observe operations, find a task, fill a need. Ask someone what's going on if you are unsure.
- Buddy System: Travel in pairs.
- Carpool where possible.
- Masks are encouraged.

**You are NOT required to assist operations! Come get a plate, grab a seat, talk to your neighbors.**

Please assess your own comfort and risk levels ahead of the weekend. We do not desire police escalation, but we will ALWAYS 'see something, say something.' The neighbors we serve cannot consent to protest, so remember this is their space.

Hope to see you all soon. We have power in numbers. ♡♡

At last Sunday’s Food Not Bombs meal (5/3/26), community members were met with two FWPD cars sitting in the parking lot of Freimann Square. At roughly 2:10, after the meal started, the two FWPD vehicles entered the park and circled around the fountain as a show of intimidation against us. According to people who frequent the park this has become a common occurrence, with FWPD often rolling through looking for people resting in public and intimidating them into leaving. With the recent passage of Senate Bill 285, we see these actions for what they are; a threat by FWPD to forcefully intern the unhoused on behalf of the state and city. A brazen act of class warfare.

Thankfully no arrests were made, as no crimes were being committed - and we once again reiterate our stance that “crime” is a meaningless construct that only serves the interests of authority. Many community members were ready to document all interactions, and FWPD eventually got the message that their presence was unwelcome. No one left our meal in handcuffs. If we can do anything to avoid it this will always be the case.

This follows weeks of surveillance from FWPD as they regularly enter the parking lot to run the plates of our volunteers as we feed our neighbors with no barriers, something the city refuses to do.

Where there exists authority, there must also exist a counter to authority. The state hates Food Not Bombs because its existence proves that POVERTY, UNHOUSED PEOPLE, AND STARVATION ARE POLICY CHOICES! We assert that the authority of the state is illegitimate and founded on violence. When people work together we can solve our own problems without cops, bosses, or politicians. The intimidation tactics won’t work on us, our resolve to help each other is unshakeable. We hope to see you next weekend to meet their intimidation with the full weight of our whole community. We have international solidarity behind us, the threats of violence against the spaces we cultivate are proof that what we do works and is a threat to the establishment and their rabid slobbering guard dogs in blue.

Take a nap in the sunshine,

The concept of dual power is simple, but still deeply important to understand;
We have to build autonomous systems to provide for and defend ourselves from an empire in its death throes - an empire that is desparately and violently trying to retain control. We are building parallel systems comprised of empowered people who are ready to do away with the old and build something new on the foundation of liberation.

We will feed, educate, and protect ourselves by any means necessary. Much has been said about the power of the potluck to build networks of community. While this is true, it is not the whole story. Empowerment is not made of soup, the empowered people are.

Mutual aid makes us ungovernable, it makes us independent. It makes us free in the sense of the word that hasn’t been bastardized by USAmericanism. You don’t need to ask for permission, just do it! Does that make you uncomfortable? GOOD. If the action you take doesn’t challenge acceptable behavior then what’s it really for?

ALL power to ALL the people,

🖤❤️Sunday February 15th meal.
Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but the feeling of love is with us year round. As Che said;

“The true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love. It is impossible to think of a genuine revolutionary lacking this quality.”

To love someone - be they a romantic partner, a comrade, a friend, or a stranger - is to value their life and needs as you value your own. This type of revolutionary love is impervious to apathy, and gives us the collective strength to defend each other with ferocity and passion.

XOXO,

We make no demands of authority except its end. We ask for no representation except our collectively empowered voices. Our power lies in the labor of our own hands and the bonds of solidarity we build. We will not cede that power and we do not consent for it to be managed by anybody. We will only be liberated when our relationships to ourselves and others are decoupled from the violent logic of subjugation and hierarchy.

ALL power to ALL the people,

A little bit of snow can’t stop us! Some photos from today as well as the last week ❤️❄️
We’ve been busy collecting up supplies from our neighbors to redistribute, the past 4 days have been a blur of action and reaction. Mother Nature has certainly reminded us we’re at her mercy.
Stay safe and as warm as you can!
