Vincent de Paul Society brings people together in person-to-person service to help families in need by providing food, clothing, furniture, transportation, home repairs, and assistance with rent and utilities. The Society offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. When possible, trained volunteers meet with clients in their homes to assess their needs. They also visit
nursing homes and prisons in the spirit of trust and friendship. This personal involvement makes the work of the Society unique. Immediate assistance often involves providing food or other items to meet the family's daily needs. Additional aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or financial assistance. We believe that by providing people with direct services during a period of crisis in their lives and by treating them with kindness, dignity, and respect, they will feel empowered to improve their current situations. A core goal of the Society's work is to provide help and encourage self-sufficiency while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served.
