Timothy Lymon Sickle Cell Foundation

Timothy Lymon Sickle Cell Foundation Timothy Lymon helped others as an inspiring, selfless, humble community pillar. He passed May 1984 at 17, from sickle cell complications.

The Foundation continues Timothy's work providing awareness of Sickle Cell Disease and aiding others to persevere. Timothy Lymon was an inspiring, selfless and humble individual; a true pillar of his community for most of his life that some will never forget. Timothy always took great pride in helping others even though he spent a lot of his time in the hospital. Timothy was determined to live as

normal a life as he could despite his illness and partook in several hobbies such as skateboarding, chess, checkers and riding his moped. He faced many challenges in and out of the hospital during a time where Sickle Cell had very limited options for treatment. Timothy continued to be very ambitious and had several dreams that were never realized before passing away at only 17 years old from complications with Sickle Cell in May of 1984. The Timothy Lymon Foundation was born out of lack of awareness surrounding Sickle Cell Disease and aims to keep the spirit of its’ namesake alive in hopes of helping others with the disease live full, meaningful lives and persevere in the face of adversity and moving forward towards a cure.
