This year marks 65 years since Agent Orange was first sprayed in Vietnam, leaving a lasting impact on countless veterans, their families, and generations to come.

Today, we honor the brave Vietnam veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange and who have suffered from illnesses and lasting health effects as a result. We also remember those who lost their lives, and the families who continue to carry the weight of their sacrifice.

Their service came at a tremendous cost—one that many have endured long after returning home.

On Agent Orange Awareness Day, let us remember these heroes, recognize their sacrifices, and honor the families who stood beside them through the years.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Please join us in remembering the Vietnam veterans affected by Agent Orange and the families who have shared in their sacrifice.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🙏🇺🇸

Tomorrow, August 7th, we honor the brave women and men of our Armed Forces who were awarded the Purple Heart for the wounds they received or who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Please take a moment to remember not only their sacrifices, but also the sacrifices made by their families, whose lives were forever changed by their service.
If you have the opportunity, stop by the War Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum to visit our Purple Heart Memorial, located on the grounds of our beautiful Veterans National Memorial Shrine.
We are also proud that Fort Wayne has recently been recognized as a Purple Heart City—an honor that reflects our community’s deep respect for those who have shed blood in defense of our freedoms. It is something we should all be proud of.
I’ve also included a photo of the Purple Heart-themed monument currently being installed in the soon-to-be-completed roundabout at the intersection of Leesburg Road and Main Street. This beautiful tribute will serve as another lasting reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of our Purple Heart recipients.
May we never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and the price of our freedom.
