We recently visited the ACPL Genealogy Center and are excited to announce that our historic township records have been digitized and are officially live for public viewing!

Special thanks to Curt Witcher and the ACPL Genealogy Center team for spending over six months digitizing nearly 8,000 files - including Township Books, Teacher Contracts, Financial Reports, and Justice Dockets dating back to 1850.

The Allen County Genealogical Society of Indiana website has a valuable collection of historic plat maps for years such as 1860, 1880, 1930, 1940, and more. Each plat map page lists townships with links to PDF maps, so you can view land ownership by township.

Even better, each page includes an alphabetical landowner index on the right side. Looking for a surname like Smith? Click “S” and search the list.

The ACGSI deed index at https://www.acgsi.org/deed/index.asp contain a name index to Allen County, Indiana, recorded deeds and related documents. It is a finding aid to help you locate the actual deed. It lists:
Parties to the deed
Year deed recorded
Deed book/page or document number
Direction of transaction: to/from

This index includes references to most deeds filed with the Allen County Recorder in the periods 1824-1903 and 1921-1999. Some plats and miscellaneous documents may also be cited here.
