Fort Wayne Urban League Board Chair Dawn Clopton has taken her leadership role to the next level.

Dawn shares, "Serving as Board Chair of the Fort Wayne Urban League is more than a leadership role for me—it’s personal. I am passionate about this mission because I’ve witnessed firsthand how transformational it is when individuals and families gain the tools, confidence, and opportunities to rewrite their futures.

The Urban League stands in the gap for so many in our city—advocating for equity, expanding economic mobility, and ensuring that underserved communities are not just included, but empowered. This work reflects the values I carry deeply: dignity, access, justice, and community."

League of Women Voters of Fort Wayne NAACP The Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Fort Wayne Urban League

Proud to partner with area organizations to canvass the 46803 community today! ❤️

Together, more than 35 volunteers came together to engage residents, share information, and remind our neighbors that your voice matters and voting is your superpower! 🗳️

Today’s effort was completely nonpartisan and focused on making sure our community has the information and resources they need to participate in the civic process.

We were also proud to remind residents that the Fort Wayne Urban League is a voting center and a place where our community can access important voting resources.

A huge thank you to all 35+ volunteers and every organization that gave their time, energy, and heart to our community today. This is what community looks like! ❤️

🌻 A little hope growing right here at the Urban League.

This summer, our youth campers planted sunflower seeds with their own hands—and now, we’re watching them grow into something beautiful.

This morning, we cut a fresh sunflower from our garden, and it felt like the perfect reminder that good things take time, care, patience, and a little sunshine.

What starts as a tiny seed can become something that stands tall, bright, and full of life. 🌻
That’s what we hope to plant in our young people, too—hope, confidence, purpose, and the belief that they can grow into something greater than they ever imagined.

Here’s to planting seeds today and believing in what tomorrow can bring. 💛🌻

Alliance Health’s new clinic is officially open and ready to serve our community from its new home at the Fort Wayne Urban League! ❤️

Today represents so much more than the opening of a new clinic — it represents hope, partnership, access, and service.

We could not be more thrilled to welcome Alliance Health and this important resource into our Urban League family. Together, we are helping break down barriers to healthcare and creating greater access to the services our community needs to thrive, live healthier lives, and reach their full potential.

This is what partnership looks like. This is what community looks like. And this is what happens when we come together to make a meaningful difference.
