📚 Welcome back to school, Kosciusko County! 🍎
As kids head back to the classroom, we're excited for a new school year filled with learning, friendship, and new opportunities!

For some students, one of the best parts of their week will be knowing that their Lunch Buddy is coming to see them. 💚

Our Lunch Buddies spend just one lunch hour each week with a student—talking, laughing, playing games, and simply being someone who shows up for them.

We currently have 76 Lunch Buddy matches, but many more students have been identified by school staff as needing a caring adult in their corner.

Could you give one lunch hour a week to a child?

It can be a fun break from your workday, a chance to make a meaningful connection, and an opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child's life.

"Knowing that I'm involved in the organization and there's a kid in town that I'm connected to, it has made me feel more connected to my community because of her,” said Big Sister Emily.

Emily and Little Sister Miraeya have been matched for 2 years now, first meeting as School Buddies. Now, they explore the great outdoors, read together, and craft!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana is seeking caring adults to become Lunch Buddies for elementary students throughout Kosciusko County.

Yesterday, while attending a community volunteer engagement event, we were excited to spot Big Sister Michelle Phelps and Little Sister Victoria!

Victoria is a member of the National Honor Society, which encourages students to give back through volunteerism. Michelle brought her to the event so she could explore ways to get involved and make a difference in our community.

For nearly seven years, these two have been meeting together every week. It's incredible to see a mentoring relationship grow from friendship into a shared commitment to serving others.

This is what the power of mentorship looks like, building confidence, inspiring leadership, and creating a ripple effect of kindness throughout our community.💚
