✅ Accepted: used automotive fluids, household cleaners, gasoline, fertilizer, medications and more (10-gallon limit on paint)
❌ Not accepted: electronics

The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is a place for Allen County residents to dispose of unwanted household products that are toxic.

Join Broad River Neighbors for our first-ever Halloween Neighborhood Takeover! ✨
Tables will line the Park & Waldron loop (west of Thompson) for easy trick-or-treating, Halloween tunes, and fun photo ops during
Trick-or-Treat from 5:30-7:30 PM on Halloween, October 31.

This is our first year, and we're counting on our wonderful community to make it happen. We're looking for neighbors willing to host a table to help bring this event to life.

Can't make it or have other traditions on Halloween? Donations of time and/or equipment, including folding tables, pop-up tents, decorations, and bags of candy, are welcome and appreciated.

Broad River Boost is a matching mini-grant program available to residents that reimburses 80% of home exterior and safety improvements, up to $500. 🪜🏡

Broad River Boost is made possible through a 2026 Neighborhood Improvement Grant from the Fort Wayne Neighborhoods Department. 💙

❗️As of today, September 25, there are 21
known measles cases in Indiana this year. INCLUDING Allen County.

Children need their first dose of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine at 12 months of age and then a second dose at 4 years of age. Two doses provides 97% protection against measles.

Super Shot is providing priority appointments for those that need an MMR vaccine. Call 260-424-7468.

Opportunity to share your feedback about local law enforcement.

Throughout the rest of September, the Fort Wayne Police Department is asking residents to share their opinions through a community survey.

You can find it here on the Engage Fort Wayne Website: https://engage.cityoffortwayne.org/FWPD-community-satisfaction-survey

The survey is designed to help FWPD better understand how the community currently views the department, what residents expect from it, and which qualities should guide the department’s future communications and public identity.

Questions address topics such as trust, transparency, professionalism, community engagement, public-safety priorities, and how residents prefer to receive information from FWPD.

Responses will establish a baseline for FWPD’s branding and communications efforts. The survey is voluntary, and FWPD will review responses in aggregate.
