Fort Wayneโ€™s Fourth of July parade is not just something to watch this year. Residents, families, groups, and volunteers can be part of it.

Applications are now open for the Celebrate America, 250 Years United Parade, which will take place Saturday, July 4 at 10 a.m. along South Calhoun Street, from Creighton Avenue to Main Street. The family-friendly event is presented by the City of Fort Wayne and Steel Dynamics, with participant applications and volunteer opportunities available online through June 15.

For anyone who wants to celebrate Americaโ€™s 250th anniversary from inside the parade route, this is the chance to help make the cityโ€™s July 4 celebration even more memorable: http://dlvr.it/TSlNtl

โ™ป๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ Get Ready, Fort Wayne โ€” Itโ€™s Eโ€‘Recycling Time! ๐ŸŒŸโ™ป๏ธ
Got old electronics hiding in closets, drawers, or that one โ€œmysteryโ€ box in the garage?
Set them free on Saturday, June 6th!
Join us at the Jackson Lehman Family YMCA in the south parking lot from 9:00 AMโ€“12:00 PM for a morning of responsible recycling, community impact, and good vibes.
โœจ Why show up?
Because recycling feels goodโ€ฆ
But recycling and supporting the YMCA feels even better!
A portion of the profits from this event will be donated directly to the Jackson Lehman Family YMCA, helping fuel programs that strengthen our community.
Bring anything with a plug, battery, or power source โ€” weโ€™ll take it off your hands and keep it out of the landfill.
Letโ€™s clean up, give back, and kick off summer with a greener planet and a stronger community.
See you June 6th! ๐Ÿ’š

We ๐Ÿ’™ Packard Park!

We ๐Ÿ’™ Packard Park!

A neighborhood park redesign is earning regional recognition for more than construction. It is being honored for turning community priorities into a place families can use and enjoy.

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, working with MSKTD & Associates, has received a Building Contractors Association of Northeast Indiana Excellence in Construction Award for the Packard Park redesign. The $1.9 million project added two new playgrounds, an event lawn and plaza, new landscaping, a perimeter walking path, and improved neighborhood connections.

The award highlights what can happen when public investment, private support, and resident input come together around a shared vision for a park: http://dlvr.it/TSkfvF
