Our pack needs some help!!!

Pack 3411 and Troop 411 are cooperating on a service project for the church to rejuvenate their playground!

The plan is to repair the fencing, including repainting the fence poles. We will do a deep cleaning of the playground equipment and repainting and repairing parts that need some TLC. We will be
replacing the sandbox with another set of equipment designed for younger youth so all ages can play! We will be adding some more rubber mulch and some railroad ties around the playground area to help keep the mulch inside. We will also give a picnic table a little attention.

We believe this project will make the playground a more welcoming place for the neighbors to bring their children for an enjoyable and fun experience!! With the absence of a p***c park near them, this playground has become an important recreational spot for the area. We hope many Scouts will come and help us with
this project for our charter partner!

This will also contribute toward your Impact 365 hours and we will write letters for service hours!

Born in Harlem to Jamaican immigrant parents and raised in the South Bronx, Colin Powell became one of the most influential military and diplomatic leaders in American history.
A graduate of City College of New York, Powell entered the U.S. Army through ROTC and went on to a remarkable 35-year military career, rising to four-star general. He served as National Security Advisor, Commander of U.S. Army Forces Command, and, from 1989 to 1993, as the 12th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staffโ€”the highest-ranking military position in the Department of Defense. He oversaw 28 crises, including the invasion of Panama and Operation Desert Storm.
In 2001, Powell became the 65th U.S. Secretary of State, the first Black American to hold the position. He later received numerous military and civilian honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom twice, Congressional Gold Medal, Presidential Citizens Medal, Purple Heart, and the Silver Buffalo Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
Powell often credited Scouting with providing essential building blocks for his life, particularly the values of leadership, responsibility, and service.
In a 2017 letter to the TMR Alumni, General Powell fondly recalled his Scouting days, remembering hiking โ€œacross the George Washington Bridge and camping in some woods along the cliffs in Englewoodโ€ (Alpine Scout Camp).
While Powell was not a TMR camper, his Scouting story is an important part of the remarkable history of New York City Scouting.
From the South Bronx to the highest levels of the U.S. military and government, Colin Powell exemplified a life of leadership, service, and achievement.
