In our June Letters to the Editor section, we address the following questions: Why do we have chapters and verses in the Bible? Scripture calls God our Father. What does that mean for how He relates to us? What’s the difference between a disciple and an apostle? Click below to read our answers.

Why do we have chapters and verses in the Bible? The Bible wasn’t originally written with chapter and verse numbers. Those came much later. Chapter…

The simplest definition of a disciple is a learner or follower, while an apostle is one who is sent out. In the Bible, an apostle begins as a disciple — in the Christian faith, learning from and following Jesus — before he is sent out as an apostle. To learn more about two of the most prominent apostles, click below to read "Peter & Paul: Apostles, Followers, Martyrs" from the June Broadcaster.

More than 50 volunteers make the ministry at Worship Anew possible. On Tuesday, we recognized those volunteers as well as presented awards to five volunteers for their service.

The Rev. Oswald Bertram Award was presented to the Rev. Dr. Thomas Ahlersmeyer, a longtime pastor on the program, and Diane, Ruth, and Eloise Hartmann, who have carefully packed hundreds of care packages through our Care Ministry.

The Bertram Award recognizes volunteers who serve their Lord by devoting their time, talents, and energy in assisting Worship Anew in its ministry.

The Rev. William Mueller was also recognized for his 10 years of serving as a pastor on "Worship Anew."

Thank you to all of our volunteers!

Lord, summer arrives, and the world around us grows and blooms, and we remember that You are still at work in us too — not finished yet, no matter our age or season of life. The same Spirit poured out at Pentecost still moves in our hearts, tending what You planted long ago. Thank You that we are never too far along, too worn, or too weary to be growing in Your grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
