BSA Fall Potluck 2025 🍁

Golden leaves, warm laughter, and the scent of home-cooked comfort — our little corner of Temple felt like shorotkal back in Bangladesh.

We sang, we shared, we feasted under the open sky — and even a few deer wandered by, as if drawn to the music and the joy.

Thank you to everyone who came with food, friendship, and heart. You turned an ordinary fall afternoon into a memory wrapped in warmth.

On February 21, 2025, the Temple Bangladeshi Student Association (BSA) hosted a heartfelt event to observe International Mother Language Day, paying tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives in 1952 to protect the right to speak Bangla.

The event brought together 80 participants, creating a space for remembrance and cultural pride. Attendees enjoyed traditional Bangladeshi food and took part in storytelling, a quiz, and live performances of Bangladeshi songs.

Dressed in black or white traditional attire, students honored the sacrifices of the past while celebrating the beauty of linguistic diversity. The evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving our mother tongues and cultural identity.

Temple BSA remains committed to keeping this history alive to create a sense of unity through language and heritage.

On February 21, 1952, brave students stood against oppression and sacrificed their lives to defend the right to speak Bangla. Their courage led to the recognition of International Mother Language Day, a day that reminds us of the power of language, identity, and unity. Join Temple BSA as we come together to honor their legacy, celebrate our mother tongue, and reflect on the importance of linguistic diversity. This is more than just an event,it’s a tribute to those who gave their lives for our language and a celebration of our rich heritage. Let’s stand together in remembrance and pride.
