Thank you to all attended our Declaring Independence and ice cream social on Sunday! It was a treat to hear Thomas Jefferson speak about the Declaration of Independence and its legacy. We were also delighted to hear performances by the Philly Fife and Drum Company on the grounds of our beautiful mansion. 🇺🇸

Get your FREE tickets now for "Declaring Independence" this Sunday, August 2nd! Thomas Jefferson himself will read the Declaration of Independence on the steps of Historic Hope Lodge at 12:00. Afterward the mansion's first floor will open for self-guided tours and you will be treated to an ice ream social!

It's July 2! Today's challenge: Tell everyone you know "Happy Independence Day!" When you get strange look, tell them this:

On this day in 1776, the Continental Congress voted to approve the resolution for independence. An enthusiastic John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail: "The second of July 1776 will be the most memorable Epocha, in the history of America...it ought to be commemorated... with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more."
