The Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that enhances the First Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem program of Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton counties through support, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to provide for the needs of abused, abandoned and neglected children and support the volunteer advocates in the Guardian ad Litem program. We a
re a United Way partner agency. Support- The Foundation provides for basic needs such as diapers, clothing and food. It is important that a child's basic needs are met but providing support above and beyond basic needs can make all the difference in the world to a child who can begin to experience a quality of life most of us take for granted. The Foundation supports children with attendance at camps, sporting events, after school activities, band instruments, and many other special needs which the children would otherwise go without. Without this foundation it would not be possible for our program to provide this support for the children. Education-The Foundation provides funds which makes it possible to educate and inform our community of the essential need for additional volunteers. The Foundation also provides funds to aid in the education of new volunteers. Advocacy- For both the children and the volunteers. The Foundation aids in fund raising efforts, provides for speakers at public events, funds volunteer appreciation luncheons, and assists with public forums such as the state legislature.
