🌸 Devotional: “When My Foot Slips”
Psalm 94:18–19 reminds us that God does not wait for us to regain our balance before He reaches for us.
There are moments when life feels unsteady. Our confidence wavers. Anxiety gets loud. We may not know what tomorrow holds, and sometimes our own thoughts become heavier than the circumstances around us.
But the psalmist says, “When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’ your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.”
Notice the response: God supported him.
Not because he had everything together. Not because he never struggled. God’s love met him right in the middle of his instability.
And then comes verse 19: “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”
That is the beautiful exchange: anxiety for comfort, instability for support, heaviness for joy.
Today, you don't have to pretend you're stronger than you feel. You can simply tell God, “Lord, my foot is slipping.” He already knows. His love is steady when you are not.
Prayer:
Lord, when I feel unsteady, remind me that I am supported by Your unfailing love. When anxiety becomes loud within me, quiet my heart with Your comfort. Help me trust You even when I cannot see what is ahead. Turn my worry into peace and my heaviness into joy.
In Jesus' name, Amen. 🌿
