Hey Community!
Update on stations!

Yesterday I went and cleaned out the Borrow Bins of trash and broken toys. Moods toys from smaller stations to larger ones to make space for new donations and visually inspect for repairs.

Right now two stations need one piece of wood. A piece replaced. Out of 19 stations within the county. That's good statistics!

These 15 stations are located on Okaloosa Island at the numbered access points and the pocket accesses in between them.

They are ready for the upcoming season!

If you are coming to the area on vacation or if you're a local and planning to spend some time on the beach with your family and need access to Beach items. Please take advantage of the Borrow Bin program. These stations are in place for individuals to donate reusable Beach items for others to access and enjoy. This cuts down on purchase of new plastics, prevents items being left on our beaches and overall positively impacts the environment and community.

Hey Community!
Update on stations!

As summer draws to a close, we can look back on the Borrow Bin project as a huge success. There are toys in every box!

These are 14 of 19 Borrow Bins throughout Okaloosa County.

There is one located at each of the public accesses on Okaloosa Island. One located at Garnier Beach Park in the City of Fort Walton Beach, two located at the Crab trap in Destin and the final one is on private property at the Islander Resort.

The purpose of the Borrow Bins are to cut down the purchase of new plastics, prevent items from being left on our beach to become microplastics and gives access to items for other families and children to use and enjoy.

This project will be expanding. City of Destin Government The community is ready!

Hey Community!
Mission accomplished!

This morning the girls and I hit the streets for the City of Fort Walton Beach First call to order cleanup as part of the cleanest City initiative kick-started by the city manager Jason Davis.

We knocked out both sides of Hollywood from Chester Pruitt Park to memorial.

Several organizations came out and played their part to include the Rotary club, Ocean Hour Okaloosa and the boys & girls club. Councilman David Schmidt was also here this morning doing his part to keep our city just a little bit more cleaner.

There were at least 30 volunteers out there this morning. Either solo individuals or organizations of groups. I know that there are more to be recognized that were there this morning and as soon as I know their identities I will shout them out!

Thank you to everyone who came out this morning and showed up for our city!

We are stronger together!

Big thank you to the city for this initiative and breath of fresh air into the environmental movement.

Hey Community!
Stations Map locator!

Did you know❓ We have a total of 19 Borrow Bins within Okaloosa county.

What are Borrow Bins❓They are wooden boxes located at beach accesses.

What's their purpose❓ They are a place to donate reusable Beach items. From toys to umbrellas and chairs. These items can be placed at these stations.

What are the benefits❓ So Many! These stations give a place for items to be placed for future use and enjoyment. Instead of being left on the beach to become microplastics in our water they can be enjoyed over and over again. They help knock down the purchase of new items which overall reduces plastic waste. They give access to toys for families and their children to use who might not be able to afford them themselves. These stations help connect community with visitors!

Here is the official Google map locator for all our current stations.

Big thank you to Justin Hoff for creating this and making it to possible!
