Tower Park Trails Fort Thomas - CORA Great multi-use natural surface trails just minutes from Downtown Cincinnati in the heart of Fort Thomas

n the 1990s, mountain bikers in Greater Cincinnati had few locations where they could use their bikes as they had been designed to be used — on off-road trails. Enjoying the sport meant hours of driving to other spots in the Midwest. That changed in 1997, when a group of dedicated riders came together to crate a trail network in the region. The Cincinnati Off Road Alliance (CORA) now maintains mor

e than 60 miles of public trails within one hour of Downtown Cincinnati. Through activities like trail build days, racing events and social gatherings, we foster a healthy off-road community in and around the Queen City. As of June 2012, we’re teaming up with IMBA (International Mountain Biking Association) to strengthen mountain bike advocacy all across the state of Ohio!

Newer trail, Forest Waves, still on the RED side. Best to avoid for another day

Luckily these kids got out this past weekend for some great dirt before this rain flipped us to RED.

Howdy team! I am told (by Jason Reser) that the city will gauge how much interest there is in biking and the need for trails in Fort Thomas based on the “Tour de Tinsel.” This is the bike ride from the Fort Thomas YMCA through town and concluding at the Christmas tree. Let’s show them how many people care about biking facilities in Tower Park and Highland park.

I know- apparently the 100+ people attending and supporting our Tower Park time trials every week in the summer isn’t enough… and our weekly Roots practices…they need to see us at this event.

Bonus points for signs or even a banner that says something like this “All we want for Christmas is new trails at Tower park!” (Coach Emma’s idea).

So let’s decorate those bikes and see if we can turn some heads and minds December 7th.
