🚨 FORT SMITH PARENTS, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! 🚨

What do you wish your teenager knew more about?

🚩 Human trafficking?
📱 Screen addiction?
💨 Va**ng?
💊 Drugs and alcohol?
👀 Online predators?
🌐 Social media dangers?
🛑 Bullying?
🧠 Mental health?
❤️ Healthy relationships?

Or something we're not even talking about enough?

At Day One Teen Center, we believe prevention starts with education. Sometimes the conversations we're most uncomfortable having are the ones our kids need the most.

We're working to build something in Fort Smith that goes beyond treatment. We want to educate, equip, and protect our young people BEFORE they're in trouble.

But we don't want to assume we know what your kids need.

📣 WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and community members — drop your answers in the comments. 👇

❤️ If we could teach your teenager ONE thing that could change or even save their life, what would it be?

Let's build something our kids actually need.

❤️ Your story isn’t over.

To the teen struggling with drugs right now… You are not a lost cause. You are not your mistakes. And you are NOT too far gone.

There is a whole life ahead of you that you haven’t even experienced yet. You are our future. Don’t let addiction steal it before you get the chance.

You matter.
Your future matters.
And recovery is possible.

Last week, we had the privilege of hearing Dr. Robin Finley speak about our kids, the internet, and the very real dangers they face every single day. TeachingTIME

Wow. To say it was an eye-opener is an understatement.

From learning how online predators operate, to understanding how apps and online platforms are designed to keep children and teens engaged, to hearing about research examining how heavy digital media use may affect developing brains—the conversation was powerful.

And the concerns don’t necessarily end online. Researchers are also studying connections between problematic technology use, adolescent development, mental health, and risky behaviors, including substance use.

This isn’t just interesting information. It’s information we, as parents and adults, need to understand.

Our kids are growing up in a world that is completely different from the one we grew up in. We can’t protect them from dangers we don’t understand.

We have to educate ourselves. We have to pay attention. And most importantly, we have to keep talking to our kids.

Teen drug use doesn’t always look like addiction.

Sometimes it looks like slipping grades.
Anger. Isolation. A new group of friends.
Skipping school. Lying. Losing interest in everything they once loved.

Behind those changes may be a teenager who doesn’t know how to ask for help.

Ignoring the signs doesn’t make them disappear. Talk to them. Ask the hard questions. Listen without judgment.

Addiction can take hold young—but recovery can start young, too.
