The First Sunday in October is World Communion Sunday. Shell Chapel CP (Pine Bluff, AR) celebrated with breads representing several countries & cultures: Pita bread, corn tortillas, French bread, Matzah, rye/pumpernickel; rice. The altar, chancel, and foyer were decorated with items representing many nations from around the globe.

Keep the Walnut Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in your prayers as they lay to rest an elder.

Eddie Gene Finney, 77, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2026. He was born November 15, 1948, in Booneville, Arkansas.

He was a member of Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church and had a diverse career, serving as a bail bondsman, Justice of the Peace, and proud owner of Eddie’s Trading Post. A respected 32nd Degree Mason and member of The Gideons International, he cherished the moments spent working and visiting with people.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Finney; parents, James and Vola Finney; and sister, Marilyn Goldsmith.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church near Booneville with burial at Springhill Cemetery in Chismville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home.

Eddie is survived by his sons, Jim Finney (Donna) and Michael Finney, both of Booneville, and Vince Driscoll of Venita, Oklahoma; daughters, Stacy Collins (Michael) of Coal Hill, Arkansas and Michelle Clark of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Jim Finney, Jim Tanner, Billy Turnipseed, Michael Collins, Dustin Clark, and Ryan Focht

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International.
