Soir au village : Moneko-Yembong replonge dans ses racines à l'approche de la 5ᵉ édition du Festival BIA SO MENGONG

À quelques semaines de la 5ᵉ édition du Festival BIA SO MENGONG, prévue du 11 au 25 juillet 2026, les activités préparatoires se poursuivent avec intensité sur le terrain. C'est dans cette dynamique que s'est tenu le samedi 30 mai 2026, la soirée "Soir au village" dans le village Moneko-Yembong, situé dans l'arrondissement de Sangmélima, département du Dja-et-Lobo.

Cette activité s'inscrit pleinement dans l'esprit de cette cinquième édition du festival, placée sous le thème : « Retour aux Sources ». Un thème qui invite à la redécouverte des patrimoines, des savoirs ancestraux et des fondements culturels qui structurent les communautés.

Conduite par une délégation composée de Nicole Deschamps Belinga Mfou'ou, Deschanel Emmanuel Eto, Julot Armel Sengane, Emmanuel Abeng, Rochelle Marina Bela, Marlyse Raïssa Menguendane, Hassan Gali Mager, Jean Emmanuel Seme, Jacques Kisito Ndongo Bitye et Axel Ndongo, la visite a bénéficié d'un accueil chaleureux des populations de Moneko-Yembong sous la conduite du Chef traditionnel du village, Sa Majesté Nkoto Roger.

Dès les premiers instants, les participants ont été plongés dans un univers où la mémoire collective continue de se transmettre à travers les gestes, les récits et les pratiques culturelles. Danses traditionnelles, séances de contes et de proverbes ont rythmé cette rencontre, offrant aux visiteurs une immersion authentique dans le patrimoine immatériel de la communauté.

L'un des temps forts de la soirée a porté sur les échanges autour du lignage et de l'arbre généalogique du clan Yembong. Moment de transmission ayant permis de mieux comprendre l'histoire du village, l'organisation familiale traditionnelle ainsi que les valeurs qui fondent la cohésion sociale de la communauté. Une véritable leçon de mémoire collective qui résonne particulièrement avec l'appel au « Retour aux Sources » lancé par le Festival BIA SO MENGONG.

Au-delà de la découverte culturelle, cette rencontre a favorisé un dialogue intergénérationnel fécond entre les détenteurs des savoirs traditionnels et les visiteurs venus à leur rencontre. Les échanges ont mis en lumière l'importance de préserver et de transmettre ces héritages face aux mutations contemporaines.

La soirée s'est poursuivie dans une atmosphère fraternelle autour d'un repas convivial, symbole d'hospitalité et de partage. Entre récits, chants, souvenirs et moments de communion, les liens entre les participants se sont renforcés au fil des heures.

Les activités se sont achevées aux environs d'une heure du matin, laissant à chacun le souvenir d'une expérience riche d'enseignements et d'émotions.

Evening in the Village: Moneko-Yembong Reconnects with Its Roots Ahead of the 5th Edition of the BIA SO MENGONG Festival

Just a few weeks before the 5th edition of the BIA SO MENGONG Festival, scheduled to take place from July 11 to 25, 2026, preparations are gathering momentum on the ground. It is within this context that the “Evening in the Village” event was held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the village of Moneko-Yembong, located in the Sangmélima Subdivision of the Dja-et-Lobo Division.

This initiative fully reflects the spirit of this fifth edition of the festival, whose theme is “Back to the Roots.” A theme that encourages the rediscovery of cultural heritage, ancestral knowledge, and the foundations that shape community identity.

Led by a delegation comprising Nicole Deschamps Belinga Mfou'ou, Deschanel Emmanuel Eto, Julot Armel Sengane, Emmanuel Abeng, Rochelle Marina Bela, Marlyse Raïssa Menguendane, Hassan Gali Mager, Jean Emmanuel Seme, Jacques Kisito Ndongo Bitye, and Axel Ndongo, the visit received a warm welcome from the people of Moneko-Yembong under the guidance of the village's traditional ruler, His Majesty Nkoto Roger.

From the very first moments, participants were immersed in a world where collective memory continues to be passed down through gestures, stories, and cultural practices. BIA SÔ MENGONG 2026: The Identity Resurgence and Global Media Rollout of Ebolowa*

The city of Ebolowa was recently the setting for the solemn launch of the fifth edition of the Bia Sô Mengong festival, an event held under the auspices of the Belinga Foundation that is already shaping up to be a major milestone in Cameroon’s cultural life for 2026. Far beyond a simple folk celebration, this gathering, scheduled for July 11–25, defines itself as a true “identity therapy,” aimed at restoring the visceral bond between the forest dweller and his ancestral roots. In a context of increasing globalization where intangible markers tend to fade, the chosen theme, “Return to the Sources,” stands not as nostalgic reminiscence, but as a strategic imperative for cultural resilience. Festival Bia So Mengong 5e édition le train de la communication est en marche

Pour dynamiser la communication autour de de la 5e édition festival international BIA SO MENGONG, qui se tient du 11 au 25 JUILLET 2026 à Mengong, le responsable de la communication dudit festival, Henry Fouman Mvondo, a coordonné ce 23 Mai 2026, un point de presse au Grand Bazar d'Ebolowa. À ce rendez-vous important, 18 responsables de médias ( en présentiel ) et 3 en visio, ont répondu présents. Ce sont notamment des correspondants des médias nationaux, ainsi que ceux de la région du Sud ( Ebolowa, Kribi, Dja et Lobo...), qui par leur présence ont dit leur engagement à faire de l'édition en préparation une réussite médiatique.

Il s'agit, selon Henry Fouman, de créer une synergie d'action inclusive dans laquelle chaque organe de presse représenté au sud travaillera pour le rayonnement du festival international BIA SO MENGONG, ce avant.. pendant et après.
Le calendrier prévoit un début des activités pour le lundi 15 Mai 2026.
La tâche qui revient à ces professionnels de la communication est celle de la sensibilisation, de la multiplication des contenus, articles et autres programmes pour non seulement faire connaître le festival mais mettre en avant tout son potentiel.
Il faut rappeler que Bia So Mengong est un festival d'art et de cultre qui pendant 2 semaines réunis des milliers de festivaliers autour de la culture, du football ( avec le tournoi de la fraternité) , des randonnées, des soirs aux villages ( contes, danses, proverbes...), de la gastronomie patrimoniale, de l'entrepreneuriat ( avec diverses formations) , la promotion de la beauté et de l'intelligence ( concours Miss), de l'éducation populaire ( Université populaire) , du livre ( bibliobus) et d'un foison d'activités destinées à construire l'humain dans son ensemble suivant la vision éclaire du Pr Steve- Félix Belinga, promoteur du festival.
La rencontre avec les professionnels des médias au complexe grand bazar rive gauche du Lac s'est déroulée dans la convivialité et la passion du métier.

Leur parole d'hommes ayant été donnée, il ne reste plus qu'à les voir à l'œuvre par des compte-rendus, des reportages, des chroniques et autres analyses au quotidien de l'édition 2026 du festival portée par le thème Retour aux sources.

Bia So Mengong Festival : The Communication Train of the 5th edition Is on the Move

As part of efforts to strengthen communication around the 5th edition of the International BIA SO MENGONG Festival, scheduled to take place in Mengong from July 11 to 25, 2026, the festival’s Communication Director, Henry Fouman Mvondo, coordinated a press briefing on May 23, 2026, at the Grand Bazar in Ebolowa.

The important gathering brought together 18 media executives physically present and 3 others attending virtually. Among them were correspondents from national media outlets as well as journalists from the South Region, including Ebolowa, Kribi, Dja and Lobo. Through their presence, they expressed their commitment to helping make the upcoming edition a major media success.
According to Henry Fouman, the objective is to build an inclusive communication network in which every media organization represented in the South Region will contribute to promoting the International BIA SO MENGONG Festival before, during, and after the event.

The activity calendar is expected to officially begin on Monday, May 15, 2026. Communication professionals involved in the initiative have been entrusted with the mission of raising awareness, multiplying content production, articles, reports, and dedicated programs aimed not only at making the festival widely known, but also at showcasing its full cultural and human potential.

It should be recalled that Bia So Mengong is a cultural and artistic festival that, over two weeks, brings together thousands of festival-goers around art and culture, football through the “Tournament of Fraternity,” hiking activities, village evenings featuring storytelling, dances and proverbs, heritage gastronomy, entrepreneurship through various training sessions, the promotion of beauty and intelligence through the Miss competition, popular education with the Popular University, literature through the mobile library project, and a wide range of activities designed to nurture human development in all its dimensions, in keeping with the enlightened vision of Professor Steve-Félix Belinga, founder of the festival.

The meeting with media professionals, held at the Grand Bazar complex on the left bank of the lake, unfolded in an atmosphere of conviviality and professional passion.
