The Hope Campus is having a Picnic for a Purpose fundraiser. There will also be the ribbon cutting ceremony for their brand new pavilion. So, grab your family and head outdoors for good food, a bake sale, raffle prize and awesome live music. What a beautiful way to spend your day as well as supporting another great cause.

Loving a drug addict or an active alcoholic is the hardest thing you will ever do. Watching someone you love, who has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw everything away and sink back into a life that will most likely lead to jail or death, is one of the hardest things you will ever do. All you wanted was to help them back to a clean and sober life but you realize by doing this, as you have before, will now just be enabling them because it will show them that you will always be there to bail them out. You want to grab and shake them and say "What are you doing?!?!" But, at some point you realize that it wouldn't make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tragedy unfold, as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves. Having to disconnect yourself from them to save yourself from plunging into the abyss with them. It’s one of the hardest things you will ever experience. You love them from afar and keep praying that they will find their way. Battling a drug and/or an alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them. So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer for every family member and friend who has lost or is losing their battle with drugs and alcohol and those who continue to conquer it!

September is National Recovery Month!

Put this on your page for one hour if you know someone who has or had an addiction.

Old Fort homeless coalition Coc Director Wendy Brawdy and board member Karen Phillips had a good conversation with Rep Hill who serves on the housing committee.

Thank you so much 🎉 to Congressman French Hill for meeting with Restore Hope leadership and State Senator Jim Petty and Continuum of Care Director Wendy Brawdy today to discuss housing in Arkansas. 🏠

We had a very productive conversation about some of the government red tape ❌ that keeps people from being able to access housing. We discussed policies that keep hard-working Arkansas from receiving help when they need it to stay in their homes which then cost taxpayers even more money to rehouse them. We also discussed Restore Hope housing
goals to help communities create more affordable housing and some innovative ideas 💡 around integration and incentives to help those that are traditionally difficult to house.

Congrats to our members!

Time for another spotlight story! We are so proud of this family, and excited to see how they grow after graduating our program!

Tyler was a good dad having a hard time. Due to some of the issues he was facing, DHS got involved and told him he had two options: lose his two daughters or go to Community Rescue Mission. He hadn’t heard of CRM before but knew he would do anything to keep his family together. Little did Tyler know CRM would change his life! His immediate goals were to get a stable income and a house, but he achieved so much more while he was here! He noted that one of the challenges he faced while he was here was learning how to keep his focus on his kids and his goals. It was a difficult process, and a long one- nearly 9 months of hard work! But by taking things one day at a time, he learned how to keep focused, how to be patient with his progress, and learned a lot about money management. Now, in their own home, Tyler and his daughters celebrate each weekly goal that they meet. Tyler says that accomplishing little goals throughout the week helps his mind stay focused on what is important. He and his girls are excited for summertime when they can spend more time together outdoors. Tyler had this to say about CRM: “This place changed my life entirely, and if it wasn't for the CRM, I wouldn't have my life or my family. You guys saved my world. It almost ended before I met you. Now I have a life I'm able to repair and make better every day because you guys gave me the chance and ability to prove I was a good and fit father for these girls.”
