Our Story
For decades, the Junior League of Fort Smith (JLFS) has been committed to identifying our community's most pressing needs and creating meaningful programs and initiatives that improve lives while raising awareness of important social issues.
Many of Fort Smith's most impactful organizations and community projects began as Junior League of Fort Smith initiatives, including the Children's Theater, CASA, and the Children's Emergency Shelter. These projects reflect the League's long-standing commitment to developing sustainable solutions that continue to serve our community for years to come.
Dignity for All (DFA) was established as a Junior League of Fort Smith Community Impact Project to address the issue of period poverty. The project's mission is to educate the community about the realities and effects of period poverty while providing essential menstrual hygiene products to those in need. Through community partnerships and volunteer "packing parties," thousands of dignity packs have been assembled and distributed to schools, shelters, and blessing boxes in the Fort Smith region.
As the program has expanded, Dignity for All has grown beyond its origins as a Junior League project. Today, DFA operates as an independent initiative while maintaining a valued partnership with the Junior League of Fort Smith.
Dignity for All is excited to continue expanding its reach, building community partnerships, and fulfilling its mission to educate, advocate, and provide essential resources for individuals affected by period poverty. Together, we are helping ensure that no one has to choose between their health, education, or dignity because they lack access to basic menstrual hygiene products.
Ways to help.
Host a Packing Party!
Partner with Dignity for All to host a packing party! Gather your coworkers, church group, school, civic organization, or friends to assemble dignity packs that will be distributed to individuals experiencing period poverty. Packing parties are a fun, hands-on way to make a meaningful impact in our community.
Whether you host a small gathering or a large community event, every pack assembled helps provide essential menstrual hygiene products and restores dignity to someone in need.
Donate Supplies
Help us keep dignity packs stocked by donating menstrual hygiene products and other essential items. Donations of pads, liners, feminine wipes, new underwear, and other hygiene essentials allow us to continue serving individuals and families throughout our community.
Become a Community Partner!
Partner with Dignity for All to expand our reach. Schools, churches, healthcare providers, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations can help by serving as collection sites, hosting packing parties, or distributing dignity packs to those in need.
