Brothers, Sisters, and Fellow Veterans,
Every year, the IAM Veterans Services Steering Committee (VSSC) comes together in person to continue a mission that goes far beyond meetings and reports — we serve veterans where help is needed most.
Each year we travel to a different IAM territory and dedicate part of our gathering to a community service project that gives back directly to veterans and local communities.
In past years:
We helped clean and preserve the Veterans Memorial Museum in St. Louis.
We supported cleanup efforts around a park and homeless shelter in Wichita.
This year, in Portland, Oregon, VSSC members will participate in a Ruck March fundraiser supporting an organization that provides direct assistance to homeless veterans across the Pacific Northwest.
NFFE currently has four veteran members serving on the VSSC and proudly representing our union brothers and sisters nationwide. We are also proud that NFFE-IAM remains the only union authorized as a Veterans Service Organization (VSO) to assist veterans with VA benefit claims — a responsibility and honor that continues to grow every year as we expand services and support for our members.
This year’s selected nonprofit is doing real, boots-on-the-ground work for homeless veterans. Almost every dollar raised goes directly toward helping veterans in need with essential support, resources, and stability.
We are asking NFFE locals, members, friends, and supporters to stand with us once again.
Please consider making a donation to support the Portland Ruck March fundraiser and help us continue serving those who served our nation.
When unions stand up for veterans, we strengthen the very foundation of service, sacrifice, and dedication that built this country.
When you give to this page, you're funding shelter beds, mental health services, and the kind of consistent, relationship-based care that homeless veterans rarely find elsewhere. You're telling someone who answered the call that they haven't been forgotten.
You don't have to ruck to make a difference. A donation of any size — $10, $25, $50 — sends a message that matters.
