When we were asked to collect seeds for the gardens at VFW National Home, we think they may have underestimated our enthusiasm for the project! We are donating more than 2000 packs of seeds, almost 99% free, simply because two members asked and mentioned the word veterans! Thank you, Amy Roller and Christy Roller! Levon 🐾 and Bowie 🐾 are the adorable "seed keepers!"

We so appreciate the community support for our Veterans Day luncheon today, not to mention the incredible ham and beans, cornbread and dessert provided by our auxiliary members! Thank you again to ALL of our veterans! ❤️🇺🇸

It was a windy but otherwise beautiful day to celebrate our veterans! Many thanks to ALL of the volunteers who put out flags and Deb Lust and Jerry Shead for organizing such a meaningful ceremony. Arnold Schofield’s history of the memorials in Fort Scott, including the Memorial Hall in which we sat, was so thoughtful and educational! The music from Ralph Carlson and Uniontown High School student, Allandra Walker was excellent and we also appreciate Fr. Yancy Burgess’s prayers and Gold Star Mother Jennifer Jackman presenting the wreath. A very nice day for such a special occasion. ❤️🇺🇸👏
