Great Adventure Camping Trip

Great Adventure Camping Trip This is a "NO COST" camp offered to children of single parent homes and households. At the present G.A.C.T. (Great Adventure Camping Trip) is in its 13th year.

Our vision is a community where single parents with multiple children and the families of deployed soldiers can attend all-inclusive camps that focus on family cohesion and enrichment, with the belief that vacations spent with families strengthen bonds and build memories that last a lifetime. This year, the GACT will be using the Kinsey Scout Reservation (KSR) in Stonewall, LA, featuring a weekend

of fun in the sun. The camp is not only FUN but meant to serve as support for single parents and offers counseling and skills for family enrichment and cohesion. Too often, families avoid vacations because of monetary restrictions, which is why we offer our camp at NO COST! Over the years, the camp has been able to reach more families. With your help, we can make this grow into camps that are offered multiple times a year.

It's time to gather up friends and family of friends and share the amazing Great Adventure Camping Trip with everyone. This year's Great Adventure will be held 14-16 July in Stonewall, LA. We have over 1,600 acres of camping area to explore and retreat. Come and learn how to camp and acquire life skills through fishing, archery, and teamwork. This program is "NO COST" to the children of single-parent households. Registration is open NOW, so don't miss out. Sponsors and donations are welcomed. Volunteers are also needed.
